Gifts for mother's day--a day or half-day at a spa getting pampered. If it's a mom with grownup kids, she deserves it; if it's a mom with little kids, it has the bonus of getting her some time by herself.
If she hates sitting around like that, something more active--sailing lesson, a community ed art or other class.
