This one is easy. Tell the wife that if she wimps out on you, you're spending the night out on the town drinking and whoring around.
Then tell the freeloaders -- uh, friends -- that you would love to accomodate them, but you have a pre-existing engagement that will have you out with friends/relatives/clients that night and you won't be home until very late.
And since when did McDonald's start paying its crew chiefs a salary?
