I left out that I was talking about some work I'm having done*, which should have made it clear that it's my place. Then, she asked "Do you own or do you have a mortgage?", since she lives in this really nice condo that her grandmother gave her outright in her will and I don't think that she really understands that most people don't pay 100% of the purchase price when they buy property. She grew up rich and sheltered in Europe, so I'm sure the topics of the upper-middle and middle classes were far too gauche.
But, fair enough. This is my only recent foray into younger thespians with robust sweater puppies, so I have to put up with some misunderstanding of the gears of the economy.
* Not that kind of "work I'm having done."
