Concur. The most effective parenting technique in this regard is not to tell the kid masturbation is "wrong," because that will merely romanticize its extreme forms. Rather, do what my parents did: tell them masturbation is perfectly okay, but they don't
deserve to masturbate. (I think this is from the Talmud.)
