NCAA Basketball Pool-2005

It's never too early to start planning for this, and ESPN has opened up its bracket contest. E/O (who?) and Greedy x 3 get a few more days to brag about last year's tie for victory.

So, to join in the fun, I created a private group at ESPN.com-->Fantasy Games-->Tournament Challenge for our little clique.

After you've created an entry*, search for the group

LawTalkers

It's a private group. You need the following password to join:

YSBDetails

One entry each (i.e., per primary sock), in case some prize comes along, and we need to keep it fair.

The brackets are posted sometime sunday night after they're announced (Mar. 13). I think the entries are locked on Thurs. morn before the first game. You can get the details at the ESPN site.

* Note that to maintain anonymity you should use/create an account that does not bear your real name. The name on your account will appear in the standings (as does your "entry" name).

(edited to clarify that it's one entry per "real" person, not one for each of your many socks).

Sponsorship

RT is putting up a gift certificate for the winner.

We'll use the ESPN tiebreaker system, whatever it is, to settle any tie. Unless RT can split the certificate. What do I care? I never win these things.

We really should do a women's bracket too (I'll take Connecticut there as well). It doesn't look like ESPN or SI have an on-line variation. Anyone know of one?

For the avoidance of doubt, Fred Miller is one of my other anonymous internet identities. Just so you know it's me who is winning the pool.

I refuse to be in a pool with someone who would post this. Burger you either exclude him, or I'm out.

Let the baby have his bottle. He can win that pool, by himself.

Y'all should watch some women's basketball sometime.

Boston is a great sports city, but some of the most fun in sports in the last 10 years were the years there was a real UConn/UMass women's basketball rivalry.

Go Huskies!

Trying to find an out, are you? I note you did not take up my challenge on the fashion board.

Not likely. Have you seen the picks?

Plus I am happy to inform everyone that since I have gone and picked Illinois to go all the way, they now have no chance.

I have two entries? I've only filled one out so I don't know how that would happen. I'll go investigate.

ETA - no idea who the capitalized N. Case is. I am not case. I mean, why would I capitalize notcasesensitive? Does not compute.

EFTA - N. Case is "Nut Case". As in Nut Case, Sensitive. I presume. Nuts!!

Oh great. Sock entries.

I see your point on caps. But ESPN might not.
