Apparently Bob Woodward is going to get in on the fun:

Yes. reeling. Woodward will be devastating, I'm sure, even though no one who might vote for Bush wouldgive a rat's ass what Woodward writes, or the W.Po. publishes, the book will kill Bush. Bush better hope Kennedy doesn't step into the fray, or the election'll be over by summer.

The wierdest part of this pool is that Nader votes splits between Bush/Kerry (2%-2%). The only way I can imagine Nader geeting Bush votes is Club told the poll he'd vote for Nader to get him to run due to the demand.

.... and a Kerry/McCain ticket is his Fido.

I understand why Shields thinks such a ticket would show courage, and would be breathtaking, superb, astonishing, and all-around nifty!

What I don't get is how Shields can credibly propose it. Why the hell would McCain entertain such a thing? McCain probably hates Bush for delivering his very own Fido 2000, but it's hard for me to imagine the Senator acting on it by pissing away his Republican party membership. McCain ain't no Jeffords.

Or, am I just missing something?

Club, what was that about the Commission featuring partisan whores? The ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Government Reform just wrote a letter to the White House Counsel asking for confirmation that he made phone calls to certain Commission members during Clarke's testimony last week. I guess they couldn't be trusted to hit the right talking points.

Why did you both think this was a slam at Sidd? I was just commenting on the rules for the table form Ty's link. One hint would have been that having someone like sidd at your firm would not be a benefit, other than the old looking good in comparison test.

Whether or not Waxman is sober or political, what about the allegation about what Gonzales was doing? Or do your views of Waxman just let you dispel those unsavory thoughts?

And compare for a moment the potential political gain from (a) feeding the Commission's GOP members question to use on Clarke, and (b) leaking a letter to the White House Council asking if it was doing the former?
