A Good Test for Media Bias

I was being polite.
Akin to saying that your posts are beginning to make you sound like a bitter, old spinster.

You forgot "nasty cunt" and the suggestion that I off myself. And you realize that politeness is lost on raouaoual. And I don't think that there should be a comma between bitter and old, and isn't old implied as part of spinster anyway?

Now I've seen everything. Bilmore favorably describes the US as a Frog.
Shall we sing the Marseillaise?

And what is wrong with the Marseillaise? A rousing tune, if I've ever heard one.
And I've heard plenty of tunes, having been in Vietnam and all.

Imagine going out to a rowdy bar and getting hammered with Michael Dukakis.
Now take away the sense of humor and the crisp phrasing.

Why things are going so well in Iraq.
Paul Wolfowitz's testimony from February 2003 bears reconsideration this week:
- In his testimony, Mr. Wolfowitz ticked off several reasons why he believed a much smaller coalition peacekeeping force than General Shinseki envisioned would be sufficient to police and rebuild postwar Iraq. He said there was no history of ethnic strife in Iraq, as there was in Bosnia or Kosovo. He said Iraqi civilians would welcome an American-led liberation force that "stayed as long as necessary but left as soon as possible," but would oppose a long-term occupation force. And he said that nations that oppose war with Iraq would likely sign up to help rebuild it. "I would expect that even countries like France will have a strong interest in assisting Iraq in reconstruction," Mr. Wolfowitz said. He added that many Iraqi expatriates would likely return home to help.
....Enlisting countries to help to pay for this war and its aftermath would take more time, he said. "I expect we will get a lot of mitigation, but it will be easier after the fact than before the fact," Mr. Wolfowitz said. Mr. Wolfowitz spent much of the hearing knocking down published estimates of the costs of war and rebuilding, saying the upper range of $95 billion was too high....Moreover, he said such estimates, and speculation that postwar reconstruction costs could climb even higher, ignored the fact that Iraq is a wealthy country, with annual oil exports worth $15 billion to $20 billion. "To assume we're going to pay for it all is just wrong," he said.
Well, Chalabi is an expatriate who returned home, though it's not clear that he's actually helping much, so he gets partial credit on that one.

more disinformation
Club picked up on White House talking points last week or so, and complained that when Condi Rice testified previously for the commission, not all of the commissioners showed up. It turns out, though, that the White House counsel's office had sent the commission a letter stating that no more than three commissioners could attend interviews with witnesses of Rice's rank. "Given that demand, 'we are a little surprised that the White House has repeatedly implied to the public that commissioners were uninterested in attending these meetings,' commission spokesman Al Felzenberg said Tuesday."

I'll grant you, if I'm voting for drinking buddies I'll choose Bush over Kerry. Bush's current aversion to the sauce notwithstanding.

And probably over Clinton too. Sure, with WJC you'd get the sauce, but you'd also have to put up with Deep Policy Wonk debates until 2am, interspersed with doobies, runs for munchies, and skirt-chasing of any Big Hair in the area.

No, I'd definitely pick Clinton as a drinking buddy first. Drinking buddies who won't actually drink kinda suck. Plus, you can play a great game of "how skanky will he go?"
