Given a choice between "The Cooler", "21 Grams" or "Bubba Ho-Tep", which does the FB recommend?

I haven't seen any of them, but the FB recommends Bubba Ho-Tep.

True.

The OM saw The Cooler at a film festival last year and really enjoyed it.

I liked the Cooler too, although it is a little hit-you-over-the-head-Sundance-y.

It has been on my list for the last month, but haven't made it to see it yet. Deals with one of my favorite things - gambling. Almost caught it last Sunday but we were late and the line to get into the theater was too long. Bummer.

You still need a man. But I'm not sure there are any in the vicinity.

And you need a gerbil to go in and remove that large stick.

I'll tell my boyfriend you said so. Expect a basketball game challenge soon.

Ps. He is 6'11"

I love Bill Macy, but I was concered that Alec Baldwin was simply going to reprise his role as Fuck You 'Cause You Drove A Hyundai To Get Here Tonight; I Drove An Eighty Thousand Dollar Bee Em Double Yoo.* Which was a powerhouse performance, mind you, but better in the very small dose we got in "Glengarry Glen Ross" than in a two-hour featured role.

*Rendered phonetically; I can't always get those Massapequa native names right.

Owning Mahowney is a pretty cool gambling flick, though it's something of a downer. Spree: It has Canadians.

Because we'll eventually need something else to talk about today, I give you the Top Six Words or Phrases that Immediately Out You as a Lawyer or Former Lawyer if Used in Normal Conversation.*

"accordingly"
"moreover"
"indicated" (when used in place of "said" or "meant")
"inapposite"
"document" (when applied to any individual piece of paper)
"dispositive"
Concur (hey -- that should have made this list) with most of it, except for "indicated" in place of "said" or "meant" that's more cop-speak than lawyer-speak.

They stole it from us. Fuckin' cops.

I can imagine it first arose in the course of witness prep for a suppression hearing.

"Okay, that's when the suspect said you could search under the seat cushions, right?"

"Well, it's not so much what he said as his --- you know --- body language?"

"Why don't we go with 'He indicated I could search the vehicle'?"

"Um, yeah. He must have temporarily forgotten about those glassine bags of narcotics and cocaine when he indicated that to me."
