The Klingensmiths for all of their nuttiness came off pretty well in the update, with the mom at least recognizing that she looked bossy and controlling on the show.
On the other hand, good ole Momma Tye didn't seem to get as much of a lesson about herself as she could have. It is sad that people (with apparently even less of a life than she has) are cyberstalking her, but that seems to have given her some excuse in her own mind for her own wretched behavior while the cameras were on her.
I just felt sorry for blonde Jordan's mom. The botched Colorado move will be lorded over her by Jordan for the rest of her life I'm sure.
Duncan Nutter. Nothing to say. What a loon.
Great reality show. One of the most entertaining ever. For those who missed it, I recommend putting the reruns on Tivo.

They missed the boat. It should have done as a get-together, live(ish), in studio, with all the crazy show biz moms screaming at each other.
"YOU DON'T LET YOUR DAUGHTER PLAY"
"OH YEAH? WELL YOU GET LOST ON THE WAY TO EVERY AUDITION. HOW DID YOU FIND THE STUDIO? WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO MARRY ANOTHER CHILD MOLESTER?"
"Duncan, I see your daughter giving Shane the eye. Does she want to join his fan club?"
etc.

If you stopped posting under unfunny Penske socks all the time and bothered to actually read the Board, you'd realize that the hep term for this now is paigow

Apparently JJ Abrams asked Regina, who does the TWOP recaps of Alias, to do commentary for one of the Season 3 episodes on the DVD. To say that the Alias fandom over at TWoP is not impressed with Season 3 is an understatement. A lot of them have said they weren't going to buy the Season 3 DVD, but I think that this announcement is going to change a lot of their minds.
If they actually let her comment the way she recaps (read: snark), then this is an awesome thing. If it's an attempt to get her to endorse the show, then I'm not as impressed. But I think it's cool how the interaction between the audience and the creators/writers/producers has developed with the internet.
Joss Whedon has been posting at Buffy and Angel boards since 1997 (he posted last night after the last Angel episode) and at least reads fan input and has hired at least one fan from those boards to be on his writing staff. Michael Straczynski used to rant on the Babylon 5 boards all the time. References to the X-Files message boards used to show up on episodes all the time.
Compared to the total audience, the on-line fandoms are tiny, but I do think that it's cool that there's an interaction between the fans and the creators. And not just because a writer once told me on an online forum that she was glad that I liked her episode because I am a hard critic to please.

1. All of my socks are funny.
2. In my hypothetical, the warning came from The Paigow, who has not yet adopted the term "paigow" yet. Or at least not in its current meaning.

Speaking of interaction, today I have had email conversations with both Mark Yost of the Wall Street Journal, who dared to write that Ed Belfour plays for the Montreal Canadiens, and King Kaufman of Salon, who dared to write that Canada's national sport is curling. Both seemed very pleasant, for ignorami. It's been a productive morning.

Canadiens/Maple Leafs, whatever. (insert Ken Dryden joke here)
My sole claim to internet fame (besides this place, natch) is that Randy Cohen once used my name and answer back when he did the delightfully snarky "News Quiz" on Slate.

Kevin Smith is really good about this stuff at his viewaskew.com site. I'm not a big fan of his, I'm just passing this along.
In the meantime, I hate hoax warnings, but this one is important. Please pass this along:
If a man comes to your front door and says he is conducting a survey and asks you to show him your ass, DO NOT show him your ass.
This is a scam; he only wants to see your ass.
I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid and cheap.

The way you are able to continually dance in the penumbra of fame is nothing short of visionary.

Some where in the Twin Cities metro area, a man with a kayak stands alone looking over an empty lake, a tear silently falling down his cheek.
