Just a little something for RT

For those who like their Clive Owen in moody pictures directed by Mike Hodges, I give you I'll Sleep When I'm Dead.

Sadly, not yet in theatres.

So I guess I can't give it to RT yet.

There's always the upcoming King Arthur flick to fill your Clive Owen jones.

U.S. Mental Illness Rate

It's cute that psychologists/psychiatrists are concerned: Newsflash: Most people lead shitty lives and are better off indulging in alcohol, drugs, religion, psychology and other compulsive behaviors than dealing with reality.

MSN article
When are they going to make a drug for boredom? My life is fantastic. I actually really like every single minute of my existence as long as its not sitting at a desk. Hell, I even like my job - when I'm on my feet, talking, interacting, etc... I just want a pill which will take away these pointless hours of sitting in an office, and remove the dullness of having to go to the same place every day. Job jumping used to be my cure, but the damned economy ended that prescription. I need a bliss pill which will allow me to analyze legal crap and write letters and briefs and sit in an office without becoming bored so easily, like the rest of the people who actually seem not to mind writing, researching and all that mindless garbage. What pills are they on, and why won't anyone give me any?

More evidence that most Americans have terrible senses of humour

B/c of Bilmore, we really didn't need confirmation, but nevertheless:

http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0...113187,00.html
(spree: the American version of the Office gets the worst ratings for a sitcom in NBC TV history. A TV insider said "Americans are used to sitcoms where good-looking people sit on a sofa and crack a joke every 15 seconds."

I blame SUVs and fat people.

Really, the next article down was more scintilating.

Isn't that a scarf shadow?

ETA: Ooops of the day goes to Apprentice runner up Kwame Jackson, who was booted from the panel of judges for waving to some of the contestants he encountered before the pageant in one of the hotels.

Is it? If it is then I don't have a problem with the leg pit. Then I have a problem with the scarf.

Well I have a problem with the bathing suit. But I'm not objecting to things as they stand.

Perhaps the local community college has a class you could take in storytelling.
Now, I rather enjoy reading the two of you bicker, and don't have a dog in this fight (I love you both, man!!), but that was a good one, fringey.

Oh, come on. We've already made such good inroads on stigmatizing eating disorders. Let's finish what we started, people.
