Just remember: there is always one kid who ends up bringing a bottle of Mini-Thins or a 6-pack of Jolt to these things.

Kill him immediately.

And let me just say that watching the finals in HD is great. Can't get over it. Every sporting event should be in HD. The Belmont looked damn good as well.

(I wonder when the Greenland National Kayaking Championship will be televised in HD.)

Both the Finals and the Belmont did look great, but the absolute best sports use of HDTV is for golf. The Masters this year was just stunning.

Me too. Those fuckers are up there with Wicked Witch of the West (don't believe the apologist book or play) in scariness. I really liked the movie a lot, and I hope they keep him on as director for the next few films. Either his direction or their acting schools improved the kids dramatically. I also liked how the grown ups, with the exception of Lupin, were shoved aside and the tale was really from the kids' pov. I didn't realize until this film how much Columbus concentrated on the adult actors in the movie.

After reading atticus' link on top ten web stuff, I had to find the grape stomp video. Hilarious. Scroll down to #17 in the 'videos' section.

So what the hell happened? And Birdstone, at 36 to 1? I need a cocktail, just thinking about it...
That's called:

"You are a sucker."

That was far from the word at the OTB. Everyone knows Belmont is anyone's game.

Friend of mine's kid had a slumber party with something like ten twelve year old girls. They decided to rent and watch Scream. My friend hid in the attic throughout the movie, and he'd thump around every now and then, but not in a way that you'd know where the sound was coming from. Towards the end of the movie, he sweeps out of the attic wearing a holocost cloak and the scream mask, scaring the crap out of all of the girls. He said it was an awesome experience, and I think his daugther (who left for college this year) is finally speaking to him again.

Hey, hey, hey. Some of my best friends were frat guys. Seriously. I'm just bitter because I got axed after I puked on the Pledge Master's girlfriend during rush. We're cool, right?

I took the Wonk Monster to see it too. I have to agree with your recommendation. It didn't even scare the shit out of him too much.
