Torchwood is ok, but not as good as I expected. Are there any new shows that are worth a season's pass?

ETA: And obviously I've been watching Gossip Girl but as much as I love Kristen Bell's voiceovers and Serena's hair, I don't think I'm going to become addicted to it.
We missed the first episode of Pushing Daisies, but saw and really liked the second (the one with the crash test dummies). Since I liked it, you probably will not.

Other new shows worth watching are Mad Men on AMC and the Samantha thing with Christina Applegate on ABC. I want Kelly Bundy, indeed.

It's weird, but I haven't picked up any new shows besides Pushing Daisies and only came upon that one by accident. But I watched almost three seasons of Grey's Anatomy on my iPhone at the gym, so I guess the current season of Grey's will be a "new" show I picked up. That's a pretty good show (as I'm sure you know), notwithstanding how stupid the Meredith Grey character is. (Or maybe it's the actress. Ellen Pompeo sucks ass.)

Hell, I even tried to start watching Heroes, which I tivo'd, but couldn't get into it. And I dumped Friday Night Lights because the coach's mannerisms are just too fucking annoying.

Huh? this is setting up for some nice confrontation. and the other cops are starting to get some character depth, which was your main complaint last year.

Who would believe someone on the phone reporting an earthquake?

Oh, and worst show of the year is Bionic Woman. What a huge disappointment.
I have watched it off and on, mostly to see if I can recognize the outdoor locations, because, yeah, there are alot of congruity problems - disappearing/appearing in public places in mid-air, not telling his brother, etc. At least in Reaper the guy tells his friends.

Oh, ETA, and it is on Mondays at 10:00 so I generally don't have much a conflict (and am working off the weekend DTs).

I don't know if it is the character or the actress but I think of her as Ally McBeal M.D.

Reaper may go down in history as the only funny thing Kevin Smith has done since everyone's first time watching "Clerks."

He has a lot of penance to do, including everything after "Clerks.", everyone's second viewing of "Clerks.", and ruining Good Omens, which could have been a great movie in someone else's hands.

About "Reaper," Satan is a little bit disappointing. B+ at best. Best friend is A+, though.

Me, me, me!!! I tried to post it last night, but gave up when I couldn't get the image to copy over. So, I guess we have that in common too. (Oh, and I also had a small dog foisted on me by a man. It's as if we were separated at birth! Spooky.)

Unrelated -- Does anyone know if anything funky happened w/ PMs during the hijacking this past weekend?

I should probably STP, but fuck it. They were brothers. (I believe Rerun was the younger one.)

DVDs are the only way I can catch up and then I'm always a season behind.
Unfortunately Studio 60 was one of the only new shows last year that I decided to watch from the beginning. I gave up about 5 shows in. What a disappointment.

I didn't start watching Grey's Anatomy at the beginning bc it was a mid-season replacement show, but I caught up on the reruns that first summer and have been watching since. It's very watchable, but the characters are idiots. And the characters who aren't idiots (George's wife; Bailey) the writers are doing their best to turn into idiots this season.

Is Madmen something that can be watched and understood without watchiing previous episodes? I don't have Showtime but I caught the first season of Dexter on DVD a few weeks ago. Very very very different from the books. I'm on the wait list at the library for the most recent book, I hope it doesn't pale in comparison to the series now. I think the series is actually better than the books, but maybe that's bc there were only 2 books published before the series started.

Concur.

I wanted it to be smart and witty. It wasn't. It was just ponderous.

I did like the end of the episode with Sting though. I'd never really listened to Fields of Gold before, and when Harriett(?) came upstairs to watch it with Matt (?), I got teary-eyed.
