Speaking of Jesus (and apologies if this has already been talked about today) but the "I'm glad soldiers are dead" placard waving church folk in Kansas that I think RT was ambivalent about shutting up (freedom of speech)....was hit with an 11 million jury verdict. Assuming it holds up on appeal, does anyone know if this presumably tiny church in Kansas has insurance to pay that puppy? Can they personally go after whatever people are in whatever scary ownership mechanism they have in place for the balance?

Yes. That's true. It's a thing to be sent to friends. But that's not limited to the best man. You can send it if you're an old college or high school buddy.

It's up there, but IMO, that title belongs to "Gimme Shelter." That tune is all the best styles of rock slammed into one 5 minute run.

And "Sticky Fingers," as I think Slave has noted in the past, has "Moonlight Mile" on it, possibly the most underrated Stones classic. As well as their greatest riff, "Can't You Hear me Knocking."

I have found that one of the most sensitive things to do when meeting someone is to actually listen to and remember their name. I realize some of us have names that are difficult, especially for Americans who have such simple and boring names for the most part, but showing someone the common courtesy of taking an interest in who they are and remembering their name is always a good idea. To be truly supportive of your friend, I would suggest that when you meet her next mother-in-law, you say hello, you ask her her name, and then you say, "Good to meet you, Mrs. Sarkoziliskistadian", repeating the name over. That way, your scrawled message following her death will not simply scream out "I didn't give a shit while you were alive but don't want to be thought a clod now."

In CA, such insurance would be illegal and unenforcable because they were hit with intentional infliction of emotional distress and punitive damages, and you cannot insure intentional acts or punis. They might have Bermuda insurance (where such things are allowed), but I doubt it.

On my shuffle I have some things from Satanic majesty's for cool down, last quarter mile. Sticky Fingers is great, but i recently had occasion to imagine what a semi-hip bar band might cover in 1995, and the Stones' that i picked was Happy. (plenty of older stuff is great).

the one 60s iconic band that could start today, play the same music, and still be popular (the Stooges are not iconic).
