Will it make television seem interesting again?

Sir, I like the cut of your jib. But you may want to let out your pants.

It's not the cooking of the hot dog so much as the provenance of the meats that make up said hot dog that I prefer not to think about. Which is why, apropos of nothing, that of all the supermarket choices, Hebrew National or other kosher dogs are your best bet. But I digress.
Fashionable Not Bob picked up a couple of spread collared shirts over the weekend (thanks, sebby!). I am wearing one today, and the pierced and tatooed sweet young thang barrista at the courthouse Starbucks told me that I looked like James Bond.
Ok, I made that last part up. Instead, she lectured me (again) about the fact that it is not a "small house drip," and that if I don't start using "grande" or "venti" I will find myself taking a sip of, and I quote, "something really gross, like a soy chai latte."

Tilapia is also called St. Peter's Fish in certain parts of the world. Where they serve it way too fucking often. I am permanently scarred from overexposure to St. Peter's Fish, and won't eat it now, even if you call it Tilapia or Dory or any other synonym.

It's the Fish of the Future! It can be (and is) mass-farmed in near-sewage, it eats damn near anything that doesn't move, and it is almost disease-proof! It's like the cockroach of the sea!
Ummmm, tilapia!

I cannot stand tilapia. It tastes muddy no matter what you do to it.

But, but, but ...
Tilapia is a rapidly mutating fish, and can be bred to have all kinds of interesting characteristics. So the tilapia of today tastes better than the St. Peter's fish of yesterday.
Plus, it's like Tofu, it's how you cook it and what you smother it in that really creates the flavor. Stop by sometime and I'll cook you up a mean Tilapia, perhaps with a nice Thai chili sauce or a hollandaise and pepper sauce combination.

Here's the thing. If I wanted tofu, I'd eat tofu. Really, I'm not afraid of tofu. But when I want fish, well, I'd like it to taste like fish.
But you know, if you're offering to cook, it might be a nice change from SportsCenter.
ETA: but hollandaise makes me want to hurl.

Dory?! Someone would eat DORY?!? That's like eating Flipper or something.
OK, for those of you who haven't seen Finding Nemo 7200 times (give or take), this may not resonate as profoundly.

Until today, I had never even heard of tilapia. Or St. Crispin's Fish. Or whatever.
Maybe that's just because to those of us in Podunkville, "fresh fish" means that the Mrs. Paul's delivery truck just arrived at the Piggly-Wiggly.
Not Bob's "Countdown to K" continues ....
