Adam Corolla was already pretty famous (and pretty damn rich) from all the Loveline stuff. He didn't need the Man Show to make him famous. It probably just got to be too much for him, and he decided to move on.

Doing a tv show like that is hard fucking work. There is a lot of writing, prep, etc., etc. to do. He can do his two hours a night five days a week on Loveline probably 45 weeks a year, have a few celebrities in, roll in to the studio ten minutes before air, and he probably makes $5MM a year.

He's a jackass, but I don't think that the reason that Jimmy has a show is because fortune has smiled on him more than Corolla. IF anything, the Man Show made Jimmy; Corolla was already a rich star in a different realm.

gross-but sincere grooming question

I've been flip-flopping on how I use Q-Tips. Dry they do a decent getting the wax out, but if I wet them I seem to get more wax out. On the other hand my ears feel more clogged when I wet the Q-Tip. I guess some moisture stays in the ear.

Is there a proper or best way to Q-Tip?

Didn't you learn in third grade health class that you should never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear?

Dry.

Is this also where they also taught you* not to put anything larger than your fist in your mouth?

*Not you specifically, Fugee, but, you know, you.

You are fucked in the head. Stardom came to Jimmy from Win Ben Stein's Money. Notice how that show nose dived after Kimmel left. And though he may be a star, and I like Sarah Silverman's breasts, it is difficult to find her attractive knowing that she has slept with Kimmel.

And Corolla a rich star? Please. I will concede that his fart-lighting on The Man Show was impressive. But that Loveline shit wasn't even first room stuff. Do you consider Dr. Drew a big star also?

I never really watched Ben Stein's Money, but wasn't it a pretty small thing on Comedy Central? I just think that Jimmy's a hack.

And we can quibble about whether Corolla is a "rich star," but it seems that that show is widely syndicated, that he makes a ton of money off of it, and that he is doing pretty well with a pretty easy radio show. It's like Limbaugh. Guy does three hours a door shooting his mouth off from his home and makes a shitload. Corolla is obviously not of the same stature, but I don't think his decision to leave the Man Show and not do other TV was anything other than his own. It's not like he's trying as desparately to be in the limelight as Kimmel is.

Ooh, shit, don't quote an old post! The horror. Hey, I don't really care if you guys think I am a sexist and a racist if the beliefs are as pathetically founded as they obviously are. I do think that all kinds of favoritism are a problem and that kind of culture just breeds more or it. But, whatever. Sure, I wouldn't be honest about my feelings about issues like this if it weren't anonymous. I'm much less careful about shooting my mouth off around here, but it's at least more sincere to express actual beliefs than run around with little injokes about drug use and group sex and all that that are just posturing.

I've always found that the people always mentioning drug use, crazy partying, group sex, etc., aren't the ones actually doing it. The fact that people here get off about talking about it anonymously is even weirder: "Ooh, look, my anonymous internet personaility is joking about cocaine use!"

But whatever, I'm sure that the FB establishment will flame me for this, too. Pile on!

I always hear that doctors are completely against the use of q-tips. But I can't give them up.

Maybe try a two-stage system. First wet, then dry or something.

Wow, in only one sentence, you abandon the premise that anonymity might breed honesty and bring up that people who mention X, Y, and Z in real life don't often do it.

You need to ask your mentor for a copy of Aristotle's Organon.

Alas, I have and continue to use drugs and party in healthy moderation, but I have never gotten the group sex. Never. And I feel cheated. Its fucking unfair. Here I am, happily married, and I guess I'll likely die without the group sex. And not only do people discuss the group sex here... they also talk about it in social settings. Many of my friends have had the group sex. I'm like a fucking loner heree. I've done the outdoor sex, the s&m, the videotape, etc... but no threesome action. And I'm told I'm objectively handsome IRL. What the fuck have I done wrong?

That's easy. Some people are more honest when anonymous; some people try to be something that they're not. If all this craziness and partying and fucking is actually going on, then more power to them, though!

I sure wouldn't talk about group sex with Sarah Silverman at work, unless I knew everyone really well, though.
