And A Rod -- what a pussy. Trying to knock the ball out of Arroyo's glove, and then telling the umps he was just running.
His sock was definitely bloody, perhaps from the pain injection?

According to the news this morning, they stiched the tendon into place to stabilize it.

A-Rod should be embarassed. You don't see that shit in Little League games.

The 1st base umpire should be embarassed too. How can you call a runner safe BEFORE he touches the bag? (In addition to the interference, he was also out of the base path.)

this is the new pumps and a bump

Rapping judge admonished for CD cover art of himself wearing his robe. link

The story actually says his punishment was an "informal adjustment", which sounds much much worse than an admonishment.

Agreed. Carbs are excellent. Protein and fat? Also excellent. A meal that contains all three? Now you're talking.

Federally mandated non-Red Sox content

I can't believe there hasn't been any discussion yet of Science's latest best efforts to come up with a female version of Viagra - the sex patch. link

And with that I stop channelling former posters who are all news links all the time and return you to your regularly scheduled Potato Salad programming.

Mustard-based potato salads are icky.

All three? I counted five: carbs, protein, fat, champagne, and gwink.

By forgetting the last two essential ingredients you have caused everyone here to doubt that you are a man. Are you one of those asexuals?

He's just being careful until she spells out her stance on the sizing issue.

Paigow's new occupation?

Administrators unveil California library mural littered with misspellings
It didn't take a nuclear physicist to realize changes were needed after a $40,000 ceramic mural was unveiled outside the city's new library and everyone could see the misspelled names of Einstein, Shakespeare, Vincent Van Gogh, Michelangelo and seven other historical figures.

Reached at her Miami studio Wednesday, Maria Alquilar said she is willing to fix the brightly coloured five-metre-wide circular work but offered no apologies for the 11 misspellings among the 175 names. "The importance of this work is that it is supposed to unite people," Alquilar said. There were plenty of people around during the installation who could and should have seen the missing and misplaced letters, she said.

The mistakes wouldn't even register with a true artisan, Alquilar said. "The people that are into humanities and are into Blake's concept of enlightenment, they are not looking at the words," she said. "In their mind, the words register correctly."

Ya gotta believe.

While I thought the moment was a horrible reflection of our fans, how the hell would they know what actually happened? It probably looked like the umps just called him out.

And while I'm on the subject, why was Jeter sent back to first? The play was a fielder's choice and ARod was rightly called out for interference. Jeter should have been sent to second. Is there some rule that says when there is interference, all runners must be sent back to where they were before the play started?

And another thing: Why the FUCK weren't Jeter and 8 other Yankees bunting from the first inning on? You see a weakness and you exploit it. If Schilling can't field his position, he doesn't belong on the field and you need to know that on the first damn pitch. Hell, isn't that how he reaggravated the injury in the first place? What the fuck?

And let me just get back to Posada for a second. Remember when I said he needs to learn how to corral the plate? Well, last night is a perfect example. Runner on second, Lieber throws a sinker in the dirt that hits Posada in the chest while he's trying to short-hop it. Has he ever actually practiced catching? Get down, lean forward and keep the fucking ball in front of you. Runner is on third. Lieber, probably having no confidence in Posada's ability to block a pitch in the dirt, dishes up a fastball to Bellhorn (who has been completely lost and strikes out more often than Hank at a fat chicks convention) who hits a three run homer (the difference in the game). Pathetic.

The Sox have played their hearts out. The Yankees have looked arrogant and overconfident -- like we should just be handed the pennant. If Boston wins, they deserve it. Without a real showing of some actual fight tonight, if the Yankees lose, they deserve it too.

Oh, stop it. He couldn't locate his pitches or hit 90 with any regularity in Game 1. He beat us last night. He pitched well.

Now, don't get me wrong. I think he played his injury up for all it was worth last night, limping around like a gimp (Give me a break -- you're throwing 94 mph. You can walk). But now, no one in Boston will talk about his decision to pitch in Game 1. They'll be too busy holding him above their shoulders for pulling a Willis Reed in Game 6.
