(No, not that fringe.)

Why don't you edit to "hinterlands" or something? I think many people would agree that I might drive an insecure guy to suicide.

The geekdom all over the net is reporting that Joss Whedon is going to direct, and possibly write, X-Men 3, which will be the Dark Phoenix saga. I met Joss shortly after the first X-Men was released, and he was still bitter about the way that script came out (other people got credit for that script, but he wrote some of it). We got into a minor X-Men argument (I defended the way Wolverine was written, and I still think I was right) and then decided that raiding a mini-bar was a better idea. Joss makes a mean Snapple and vodka.
I think it's more interesting to speculate who ends up writing than directing. Joss is writing Astonishing X-Men right now, so he has more of a connection to the series nowadays than he did when he was doing the Buffy/Angel stuff. I know someone who tried to write a Dark Phoenix screenplay, and he talked to Chris Claremont to bounce ideas a few years ago. Claremont didnt' sound interested in pursuing the movie project, though he did write the original Dark Phoenix saga. I think that Claremont's return to the X-Men two or three years ago was not an overwhelming success for Marvel, so they're probably not interested in his writing the script. Apparently Joss says that he's not directing anything that he hasn't written (he's in the middle of directing the Firefly movie right now), but I wouldn't be surprised if this is another project with multiple writers.

I should have known that bringing geekdom to the FB would have been met with stony silence.
As penance, I just flashed my chest at all of ya'll.

We the geeks have heard you. However, we are too shy to respond, for fear of getting into a debate over tilapia with cooler members.
K'plah!

You can read more about tilapia and the American Tilapia Association here. I was extremely disappointed that the "How to Sex Tilapia" link does not apprear to be working.

I find it supremely weird that the American Tilapia Association's headquarters is located in Charles Town, WV.

They figured out how much potential income they were just giving away. Now it's a pay site.

This fits in beautifully with the engagement ring discussion.
