Hope everything is going well from a cardiological standpoint. I always enjoys your catsup-y type posts. It is kind of like a Fashion Board Week In Review or something like that! hahaha I'll continue to enjoy them even if they contain the occasional barbs directed at yours truly! I know this is kind of dorky to say, but the the flames make me feel right at home here!!! Does that make me a weirdo! DON'T ANSWER THAT!!!!!

It's quite amazing when you see the interviews with these people.
Father: "Yeah there was a guy in my daughter's second floor room. But nothing was stolen SO WE DIDN'T REPORT IT.
But yeah, I guess in hindsight we should have."
Seriously? The only thing he was thinking about was that nothing was stolen, so no crime?

TM

Who said anything about poor attendance? I just offered a different method of measuring it. You make a valid point. You're correct, only if Wrigley and Yankee Stadium had the exact same capacity would the comparison be perfect. I have no idea if Wrigley would be packed every day if it held 10,000 more people (but I wouldn't put it past those morons).
That being said, the Cubs fill a higher % of road games than the Yankees do, but that could be attributed to the possibility that the total National League capacity is less than the AL.
Jeez you're argumentative today. And defensive regarding the Yankees, which is odd b/c I don't know how anyone could be a defensive Yankee fan. It's like being the most powerful nation in the world but also being the most insecure...oh wait...

I wonder (1) whether this can be borne out in further research; and (2) what portion of this decision is actually conscious; and (3) whether the "I can't date men because he might sleep with my daughter" factor is a source of long-term resentment by Mom and destructive to the maternal relationship.

No one ever writes about the predatory stepmothers... why is that?

Same thing happened when I saw it. A nice 50-ish couple sitting next to me expressed their disbelief when it ended, and I had to explain to them they had at least 6 hours and $17 each to go to see the end. Needless to say, I don't think they went to see The Two Towers.
On a related note, over the weekend I significantly upgraded my home theater system... And what did I use to test my new 8 speaker Dolby 6.1 surround system? The battle for Helm's Deep. Sounds un-be-fucking-lievable... The thunder is incredibly realistic and it sounds like the arrows are zipping past your head.

You should dump him before he dumps you for not doing the sex with him. That you once dumped a very hot guy will be a comfort to you if you are ever in a dating slump or if any not hot but full of himself guy (you have surely encountered this animal in D.C.) fails to appreciate the splendour that is you.

Cite please.
ESPN.com reports that the Yankees averaged 34,477 on the Road (76.9% capacity)
The Cubs averaged 33,406 on the Road (73.5% capacity)
Again, what were you saying?

Look, Sister, off my Corner. If everyone is going to get an assinine and immature sock, there may not be any room left here for me, and I may need to go the way of the Flower.
Look, Petulant, no one voted Rahbirt off until the last episode. And they all LOVE my poetry. So, Sista, move along.

I just found out that a guy I've started dating refuses to go see movies in movie theaters. He hasn't given me an explanation yet. He'll go to the theater to see plays, but no movie theaters. Assuming that he doesn't have a really good explanation, like that he got assaulted by a gang of prepubescent ruffians on his way out of the last Power Rangers movie, is it wrong for me to judge him for this? I'm judging already anyway, I just want to know if this will put me a different circle of hell.
If I was head over heels in lust with him, maybe I could overlook this, but wtf? I love going to see movies and I can't imagine not being able to go see new releases with the person I'm dating.
He actually told me that if I want to watch a movie with him, I should tell him a week ahead of time so he can order what I want to see on Netflix. We've only been on a couple of dates, so even if he doesn't like movie theaters, shouldn't he be kissing my butt right now to get me into bed, and saving his weird-ass issues to tell me after the deed is done?
So, who wants to go see Intolerable Cruelty with me this weekend?
|
It is simple. He doesnt like the crowds, the parking, the faux velvet or other itchy material seats, the half hour to fortyfive minutes of commercials that you are paying to see and the disappointment of what used to be good popcorn. Cant compare it to the theater. Apples and oranges. Though going to the theater is kinda gay, nttawwt- i just know your tendencies.
There is a chance he is just really cheap though. Like why pay twenty bucks for two tix when he can watch at home for like four bucks or less in several months. And the candy and popcorn. Assuming he isnt cheap, I wouldnt judge, My parents wont go either (though I think they went once last year to see a very special movie), and lets face it, I have gone maybe twice inthe past year myself. Why waste a night out sitting and watching if you could do that on your excellent at thome theater system. Otherise, go out to a restaurant or do something social.

There might be a DVD for this show? How many episodes did it last before it was pulled?
Note: I am asking this realizing that there were likely episodes produced, but not shown.
Edited to add: I checked Amazon. There's apparently a bit of caveat emptor related to a movie of the same name starring Denis Leary.

Spree: Customer Reviews talking about how they were misled into thinking the DVD was of the series.

If he just preferred to watch movies at home, that would be one thing. It's his complete refusal to go to a theater that is creepy. I mean, I don't like Indian food all that much, but I'll go to an Indian restaurant every now and then if my friends/date want to go. I might prefer Thai or Japanese or Mexican, but if it makes other people happy, I'll suck it up and eat some damn naan.
I wanna see Intolerable Cruelty, dammit, not some Netflix movie that if I wanted to see, I would have seen four months ago in the theater.
But you're right, movie theater popcorn used to be much better.
