There is no such thing as a "Southern" Red Sox fan. . . . They aren't cheering for the Red Sox to win, they are cheering for the Yankees to lose. Uh, DC is filled with transplants who cheer for their original home team. The hardest Orioles ticket is for Red Sox games (and Yankees games). Don't think they're a bunch of fans just going to cheer against those teams. The only team in town that has a genuine DC following is the Redskins. At Wizards and Caps games a sizable number of fans are rooting for the visitors.

Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are beautiful, fairly ritzy parts of Maine. Mansions, summer cottages, that sort of thing. But Maine is a large and diverse state, and if you aren't into the Kennebunkport lifestyle and cucumber sandwiches with Babs, I might suggest that you come live in Presque Isle, a wonderful cosmpolitan place filled with French speaking lumberjacks and salt of the earth Potato farmers, or Calais or Ellsworth, places where real estate really is dirt cheap.

Personally, I find the fact that BC and Clemson are in the same atlethic conference to be way more amazing. Or the ACC intentionally sabotaging their basketball power to improve their football.

You are so right about the "slacks" thing (and you think you'd kind of fancy that word, given your slacking tendencies - HA! I kill me). What a retarded word for trousers (I like the word "trousers" for some reason; it strikes me as kind of silly -- sort of like the word "underpants," for those keeping score at home).

And yes, Virginia, Sears does still exist. I bought a stove there not long ago. And a fine stove it is too! The Sears I know about sells only appliances and stuff. No clothing. Although I think there is a Sears in the Cross County Mall in Yonkers that sells the full complement of Sears merchandise -- including clothing, of course.

Say what you will about Sears clothing -- there's nothing like Toughskins jeans for little boys who otherwise rip the knees of their pants! (Or at least that's what my mother used to say -- although this doesn't explain why I had to wear them...)
