OMGAWD!!!!! That is too funny!!! LOL!!!! I’ve met Weird Al too. Not once. TWICE!!! I cannot believe someone else has met him……I love him…..ROTFLMAO!!!!
He had been on TRL…I love MTV, I’m so embarrassed to admit because I think I’m a little old now to love MTV, but I still do and I’m not that old (28 is not THAT old, is it??!?!? LOL!!!!), but I digress, so I ran into Weird Al in Times Square after he was on TRL about 2 years ago and what a circus it was. His handlers, fans, tourists, press, the whole deal, I would have rather run into Carson or Christina or Britny or Eminem but Weird Al is a good 5th choice I guess-don’t tell him I said he was my 5th choice-LOL!!! So after I saw him on the street like 5 minutes later I saw him in Starbucks and as he walked by I actually said “hi”, seriously, and he said "Hi!" and smiled and I smile too. Very cool and what was weird (besides him, Weird Al-LOL!!) is he is really a handsome guy in person. Seriously!!! Thinking about that I am reminded of another anecdote (story?) about Starbucks and maybe NotFromHere (or there-HAHAHA!!!!) will know the answer. Lately I have been ordering double half-caf extra-hot nonfat grande caramel machiattos, for which I get charged $4.65 and meanwhile the tall of the same drink is $3.85 and while I know that's ninety cents off, it seems like the pricing scheme is bizarre-does anyone else think so?!?!?!? But I digress because I am neglecting to tell you how I met Weird Al a SECOND time!!!!
It seems, from Page Six’s account-am I the only person who reads Page Six-one of my few guilty pleasures, but admitting it makes me blush  Weird Al was in town for the National Songwriter's Awards dinner or something like that and was staying at the Plaza and I was walking by with a friend from college and we LITERALLY turned the corner and ran right into Weird Al who was with Randy Newman!!!!! After “excuse mes” and “sorrys” from everyone at once, JINX!!! LOL!!!, Al (he told us it was just “AL”, we could skip the “Weird” LOL!!!) and Randy gladly posed for a photo. On a downer note he didn't remember meeting me the first time, but that doesn’t change the fact that his 29 second epic-Harvey the Wonder Hamster-remains my favorite funny song-hilarious LOL!!!!
So any other FBer Super Celeb sightings?!??!?
The Daintiest (TGIF-I'm outta here for Happy Hour!!! :boots: )Petunia

cite, please? Their fans are yelling at their own teams for not spending. Or the players (see Expos). Regardless, teh luxury tax does not give teams equal amounts of money. The Yankees pay something like $10m this year. That hardly brings up any of the low-ball teams anywhere near them. Compare with the NFL and revenue sharing. And, Yes, the gripe is with baseball, but the gripe is with baseball perpetuating a massive problem with the competitive balance of the game.

I'm leaving to go drink and eat steak, so I'll find a cite for you some other time. But I seem to recall Cincinnati and Pittsburgh selling off all their players and pocketing the cash after complaining loudly about being small market teams.

Yes. They suck. What's your point?
|
My point is that the Clippers are a perfect example of a team in a league that has solved the problem that plagues baseball but has shitty fucking management that doesn't care about the team and is only interested in pocketing as much money as they can. It's the same problem with many teams in baseball.

Every team except the Orioles and Expos have fans. And a good number of teams are popular.
|
And the Orioles consistently have a huge payroll. If all these teams have fans, why don't they spend the money they're making on their teams?

Do the Yankees make money? Or does Steinbrenner simply subsidize them with earnings from other businesses? (no, this question can't be answered because he, like every owner, can shift money from one pocket to the other with impunity).
|
The Yankees make money. Big money. People come out to watch them win. People buy their merchandise all over the world. People subscribe to cable tv and satellite networks just to watch the games (shown on their very own network).
Steinbrenner was rich when he bought the Yankees, but the Yankees have made him filthy rich.

But that's not the point. Plenty of people play "within the rules" but aren't particularly liked. Do you work for Microsoft perchance?
|
Are you suggesting that Microsoft should only have been allowed to be kind of successful? Do you hate them because they are big? What's your point?

This so clearly and obviously bait. It's what you do. It's all you do. You are the original 1 trick pony. Stupid shit is what I do, bait is what you do.
It's good to see, however, that you've come to accept the obvious truth about our relationship.

You kids with your fighting. The question I can't quite answer is which of you is Sam and which is Diane. Or is it David and Maddie?
So cute.

Really, though you do far more shit that this. You also do boring shit, annoying shit, all kinds of shitty posts, really. Learn to demand credit when it is due.
I find your latest effort simply amazing. How can one person be so consistently dull? Is there a group effort behind nfh, like one of you is the receptionist, one is the shampoo girl, and one is the stylist? Even so, this post was really at the receptionist level of boring. Can you please at least crank it up a notch to shampoo girl?

Hey, someone so fabulously idiotic must be hot. I've already said I picture her as Jessica Simpson, scentless tummy bubbles and all. I wonder if Less will have Nick duty tonight? I'm kind of jealous, actually. Green with envy.

wait, just for the record, am I piling on? I kind of thought of myself as more the Lisa G. commentator*, but if I'm supposed to be part of the fray then I need to work on my schtick. my schtick is pretty rusty, as it has only ever been tried out on bilmore.
*but more knowledgable and, if I may say so, a little bit cuter

For the record, Fringey isn't a piler-onner, she's a starter. You of all people ought to know that.
And Hank, glad to see you learned to count within the three minute edit without its being noted window, ok?
Edited to note that snarky karma bit me in the butt. I misused an apostrophe. I could just die.

A starter, but also a piler-onner.
And for the record ncs, you're not piling on (this time), it was just a simple comment.
But feel free to pile on if the mood strikes.
I just thought, you know, usually, we have more fun on Fridays and less sniping. But ShitShifter decided to rain all over my fun lamps and stuff.

my education often fails me in many subjects, and with this Haiku stuff its syllable counting. but you know what, the fault is on Miss Dillingham, the 1st grade teacher back at Alumni Memorial Elem. School. she is dead, and I won't speak ill of the dead. You should be ashamed.

Apostrophes might be a good subject for a refresher course also.
