I find it utterly ridiculous when laymen take stars to task for whoring it up for money. Its fucking show business. You go for the cash and you go big and you grab what you can and try to maintain longevity. Whether Britney is a "real woman" or not is like asking about the sugar in a slurpy is real or processed. Who the fuck cares? Its goddamn pop music bubble gum crap, and she's riding it to a nine figure fortune. You think she's going to chuck $30 mil to the wind because concerns of good taste or being her own "real woman" are nagging at her? If I had tits and ass like hers and could shake my money maker like she can, I'd try every trick in the book and ride the gravy train until I was sure it was dead. And so would 99.9999% of America.

Madonna is the gold standard. Why not follow her lead?
Right. I don't disagree that she is likely to ride the cash cow and she probably should, however I was talking about whether or not I have to have any respect for her at all. I do not. If she was doing what Madonna did and reinventing herself, I would have respect for her. Because she is instead having Madonna come to her rescue and tell her how to (attempt to) reinvent herself, I do not.

But I come from silly working class folk who put value on making your own way in this world. I'm sure others' opinions will vary.

You fucking idiots are ruining this board. If you're going to waste space with socks and one-on-one back and forth idiotic conversations that you think are funny, this place will become barren.

If you have a sock, bring it out periodically, when it makes sense or when (and pay attention to this one) you can think of something funny to post with it.

And everyone else, stop responding to this moron. RP, NCS, NFH -- I know you think you're being funny and creative with the replies to these socks, but you're not. Not only has nothing posted in the last 50 messages been funny, it hasn't even been interesting. And you're only encouraging this idiot to respond to each and every one of your posts. Enough.

Fake boobs? Well, yes, most of the time I do have to pay to see them. Nothing sad about that. The one time per year I go to a strip club, I enjoy seeing the big fake boobs.

I get to see real ones for free though. And I was unimpressed by the fake ones I've seen/played with for free.

Concur. Socking is a subtle art. You have a good idea, you bring it out, do a quick hit (or two, not more than three) at the appropriate time, and its back to the drawer. Dont make the connect the dots mistake of hnaving your secondary post like a primary so that it outlives its original purpose. If you are too lazy to logout, dont sock.

and RP, I have to agree wtiht TM, shame on you for last night. I was a little surprised to see you sink so low. under your primary moniker.

I see your point. It is very fair to criticize her for not developing her own gig, but on the other hand, everything's been done before, so there is some wisdom in taking the safest path to certain payday.

As to their being a value in doing something for yourself, I've earned many things and been given many things. I find there is no distinction at all between the two. I'd be just as happy to inherit a fortune as make it myself. Disabuse yourself of the Puritan work ethic... that was a trick the wealthy and the church used to keep the simple poor man down (See: "He who's poor in this life will inherit Heaven", rich man has same chance of passing into heaven as camel through eye of needle, etc...). Free meals taste every bit as good as earned ones. Focusing on how you get somewhere doesn't mean shit because you're dead in the end anyway and , unless you're Churchill or Gandhi, chances are what you do doesn't matter in the long range range scheme of things. What you've got matters because it usually determines your ability to enjoy life... how you get it doesn't mean a rat's ass.

Has anyone has the ginger altoids? Does anyone know where I can get some more? I find myself curiously addicted to them and find them curiously difficult to find.

Why are you giving me a hard time over what happened during the night shift? Before I left, I told those guys not to mess up your desks.

And I went on Amazon and I find the new feature curiously so fucking annoying. It pulled up like 4 books that use the word "altoids" in them someplace.

Trader Joe's. If you don't have one near you, I could send you some. For a price.

I think they were out for a limited time only. That said, I just bought some the other day at Duane Reade. But I don't think that is in your neck of the woods.
