No. You just admitted you contort your argument and contradict yourself when you argue. I have neither hijacked nor contorted anything you've said. I just made you put your wife's tits where your mouth is (wait a second. that doesn't make sens...). You backed down by saying, 'I'll write whatever I like, and I'll change the framework of the alleged argument all I like. In fact, I'll probably contradict myself from time to time. Don't play the "I'll define who wins" game with me, Bubba. I ain't playing that one.'
Translation: I give up.
TM
Edited to add:
I'm confused. Is this one of your examples of your contradictions? Didn't you say you didn't have any photos of her tits?
|
Dude, I said I didn't have any photos of her with me in my office yesterday. I, like every other human with a digital camera, have digital shots of my SO nude.
My argument was that not being provincial about nudity was absurd. You changed it to "Well, then post your wife's tits." That's grandstanding. Whether or not I can post my wife's tits has nothing to do with whether or not its ridiculous for people to be so childish about nudity. Is my wife the final judge of this issue? What would you say if she agreed to post her tits? Would I then "win"? No, you'd say "So what, just cuz your wife psosts her tits doesn't mean your values should be everyone's values." I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't.
Now address my real point - Why is it not provincial and idiotic for people to be hung up on nudity? You haven't answered that question yet. Asking me to post my wife's tits is a dodge. You create a peripheral issue and then claim victory. Changing the issue is not arguing. I reserve the right to do so myself because it seems to be the favored form of argument on this board. No one addresses the meat of the issue but everyone throws shots across the bow and claims victory. Since there's no judge, there's no finality and everyone gets to think he's Clarence Darrow. When in Rome...

Ya know, I was gonna argue with you about which is more "usual". But then I thought, even Atticus wouldn't try this case without an investigation. So I Googled instead:
the terms "beat like" and "red-headed stepchild" appeared in 87 internet documents. the terms "beat like" and "rented mule" appeared in 92.
FWIW, I agree with Balt, as it is something I heard a lot more on the Irish side of my life too.
Beating stubborn mules to ride them hard? Oh boy, not you too, please.

The scissor and knife sharpener used to come around on a mule in the old naborhood. So once. And yeah, it all is, cept for that "usual" thing, which seems pretty close according to Google. Kinda makes me wonder if there are more mules than redheads on the internet.
Or maybe I should have tried "red haired" instead.

Good lord, how close to disbarment are you? "Your Honor, I didn't say my client doesn't have the documents requested by plaintiff. I said he didn't have those documents in his office on the day they were requested, so we couldn't possibly answer those requests."

Ten minutes of gratitude, etc. etc.

3 is by Julie Hilden. I finished it and will probably read it again. It got pretty nuts.

They are too sensitive on this one. Jokes about red headed children go back at least as far as ancient Rome.

Let's not even begin on "beyond the Pale."

Now, that is usually thought to have originated as insult of the Irish. It might be older, though (i.e.: beyond the pale - meaning general borders of one's jurisdiction - not the Pale). The English had Pales in France and Scotland in the 14th and 15th centuries as well, incidentally, though the idea of being outside the bounds of basic civilization did come to be associated particularly with the Irish. It is clearly the English insulting the non-English, in any event.
Do they get upset if someone refers to Houligans?

I did: why should you expect $200k for a shot of your cock while your wife (or GWNC, or E/O, or NCS, or anyone else here) should expect nothing for a shot of her tits?

Oh, by "more usual" I meant "mules being beaten vs. ridden hard," not "the beating of mules vs. stepchildren."
I got:
30 hits on [ridden "rented mule"]
337 hits on ["rented mule" beaten]
213 hits on [beaten "redheaded stepchild"]
364 hits on [beaten "red headed stepchild"]
39 hits on [beaten "redheaded step child"]
257 hits on [beaten "red headed step child"]
Not sure how many of the step children were overlaps, though. I didn't bother to check other tenses (beat, rode); figured this was proxy enough.
edited to add: yes, I know, I am a geek.

Jesus. It is. But since everyone is, being the first one to pull a Lady Godiva is just plain ill-advised. WTF? I'm supposed to whip out my rack in court because the judge and jury are repressed and this will free their minds?

Ouch. Conceded. You'll never hear me misquote the ridden-rented-mule thing again.
