Then you need to thicken your skin bc I am a law abiding citizen. ANd if you think I am wrong on the immigrants who drive, I suggest you spend a couple of days navigating around Los Angeles. THen get back to me.

I think you're arguing hypotheticals. DMV people usually don't do the job they're suppose to, let alone more.
I'm in line at a NoVa DMV; It's a trailer in a parking lot, and there is a long line. Right ahead of me is a guy on crutches with pretzeled legs, all twisted around. That is, he can't be faking a handicap. He's renewing his handicapped plates. First, why would he have to wait in some big line to get a plate so he won't have to walk far given his handicap?
Anyway he eventually gets to the clerk who looks at his papers, looks confused and asks him for the docter evaluation. looking at his legs I was ready to give an evaluation based solely on my JD, but she was looking for some seal or something.
He asks her if he doesn't just need that first time, not for renewel. she looks confused for a second, then makes a decision "No you need it every time!"
luckily the guy asks to talk to a supervisor who says no note is necessary for renewel. This bim was going to put this pretzeled guy out of line to go to a doc, get back in line, etc. just because she didn't want to ask a question.
So anyway, whether DMV people are asked to fill out a referral to FBI/INS form, or not probably isn't too important.

The underlying rationale adopted by the Supremes for deportation is also quite disturbing. The lead cases on deportation hold that normal constitutional protections such as due process do not apply, because deportation is an exercise of a fundamental power of a sovereign that is extra-constitutional (just like the power to declare martial law and suspend the constitution, as Lincoln did in the West during the Civil War).
This makes deportation and the INS our equivalent of the old Soviet "mental health" wards.

People, please. Way too deep. I had to go out and check the door cuz I thought I had stumbled into the PB. Let's talk about sex or shoes or hockey (sseason starts tonight, by the way). I cannot believe that I am the one who has to slap everyone to refocus.
Not that it matters, but my view is that people who enter the country illegally should be sent back to their own country. If Gwinky is so opposed to this perhaps she can get the great state..er...country of Canada to volunteer to take them all in. You know, all those hugging quasi-socialist countries in Europe don't let immigrants, legal or not, into their fold in number anywhere close to what we do. And I don't buy the "America is the land of bread and honey and thus owes everyone else in the world a chance there" argument. Get down to brass tacks and you have a good argument to prevent me from tossing a homeless person who decides to walk into my house and stay because I have it better than he does. Accident or not, this is my country and I don't want to fucking doors thrown wide open, especially when we have more than enough homegrown deadbeats to take care of.*
*Many immigrants are hardworkers but there are some who are not and who come here to try to take advantage of the system. It sucks to know that there are lawbreakers (read: people who got here illegally) who receive free healthcare when there are struggling working-class Americans who have no coverage and can't afford to see a doctor until it is too late.

Um, no. In line with my new party affiliation, I recognize that hewing to the party line (or what I am told by certain people is the party line) is far more important than expressing my actual views. Really, You People should not be allowed to vote at all unless you demonstrate that you are actively engaging in therapy to cure you of your deviant behavior. And that you are celibate or only having sexual relations with a member of the opposite sex to whom you have been joined in holy matrimony. And that you've undergone a full-immersion adult baptism. Because only that will prove you love Jesus our Savior who died on the Cross for our Sins.

Men's "Kindergarten"
German Bar Offers Kindergarten for Men
HAMBURG, Germany - A German bar is offering women who want to go shopping without their partners the chance to park them at what it bills as the country's first kindergarten for men.
For $11.80, the Nox Bar in downtown Hamburg is offering boys' games and home-improvement coaching as well as a meal and two beers for men left there for a Saturday afternoon, while women are free to shop in the city's swanky boutiques.
So far, the "Maennergarten" has been a hit, with 20 men dumped there the first week, and 27 last Saturday, bar manager Alexander Stein said Tuesday.
"Many of the guys see it as just a gag, but then were surprised to find they got on really well with the others," Stein said.
=====
1. What man wouldn't prefer to stay home, drink beer, and watch a game to schlepping to a Maennergarten?
2. Could they get report cards saying that they play well with others?

Paigow, I did not realize that ingestion of large amounts of shrooms was the characteristic of a law abiding citizen. But whatever - I don't want to fight with you. I'll go about my business with my thin skin and you can navigate the treacherous streets of LA and bitch about the crappy immigrant drivers. We'll get along just fine.

I will not dispute this characterization. But when it clicks, there are few things funnier. Monday night's show (before I switched back to MNF) had Lewis Black, Dave Attell, Steve Colbert, and Nick DiPaulo and it was hysterical. For me, part of the show's charm is when it doesn't work. And for lines like this:
"I used to work at MTV. You know that show 'Where Are They Now?' Well, I'm here."

But no one is being deported because they applied for a license. We've established, through our normal law-making process, rules concerning who gets to move here from outside our borders, as does most any sovereign country. If someone is here in contravention of those laws, they are existing illegally here. Unless we all get to pick and choose which laws we wish to see applied in our daily lives, I think we can work to change the laws with which we disagree, but we should follow them. Rule of law, and all that fun stuff.
Granted, individual cases always paint a sympathetic picture, but the macro view actually counts, here, too - a large influx of immigrants causes disruption to our economy, and also lessens our ability to provide for security against dangerous individuals from outside our boundaries - a valid concern these days.

I look away for a second to announce that our own Sebastian Dangerfield is the new moderator of Ex-Lawyers and I come back to find this.
Tangentially related, this morning's Texas AMBER alert for missing children was for a sixteen year old undocumented alien kidnapped by an immigrant smuggler. Very very sad. I hope they find him safely.

Sigh, you know, really, we all know the only reason straight people ever have a problem with gay people is because they themselves are gay and in denial. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the indoctrination of negative views of homosexuality that are, of course, not rampant in our society.
So why don't you get it over with and go fuck a woman already.
Then you too can be a sinner, an abomination before the eyes of the almighty lord, and also, have fabulous orgasms. Because as we all know, lesbians are better at having sex with women than men are. And all women are just a drink or two away from a lesbian experience.

I was going to go with a "why are we spending resources on this" thing but even I couldn't do it.

I'd take it to PB, but that board's a bit wacked out today. PP/JRuss war has supplanted traditional Ty/Bilmore food fight. And fringey is over here espousing newfound radical Ahnuldistic/Stalinistic causes instead of over there delivering the left hook.

Really, all women are just a drink or two away from all kinds of sinful behavior. Which is why they too should not be allowed to vote and should perform their proper function in being subordinate to their fathers, brothers, husbands, sons and just any man on the street. Unless the man is not here legally -- I'm not sure how that plays out but I'm working on it.

Ummmm.... yes, I suppose so, but you can substitute "home-grown American deadbeats" for "immigrants" -- what's the point? That one group was born here and one wasn't so the home-grown deadbeats are somehow more honorable?

Hmmm. How exactly does this work? How do illegal aliens get free healthcare? I think illegal aliens are actually terrifed (and no, that's not an exaggeration) to receive any kind of healthcare in a public hospital, because they fear being turned over to INS. So how exactly do they get free health care? Because they can't pay for it, they don't have to? Well, the struggling working-class Americans can do the same thing (and, amazingly -- they do!). Non-payment by deadbeats of any persuasion is why a dose of Tylenol costs $85 for those of us who do have health insurance.
I'd really be interested to know the scam that all these illegal aliens are pulling to get free health care!

PLEASE, I thought you were becoming an Ahnuldist more than a Republican. Do you doubt that he has screwed and will screw anything that moves? Do we need to get ShapeShifter in here to verify that Arnold's done Reptiles?
