Gag. I find this concept repugnant. WTF? Are we canines? Is this like a caste system? Gag. I thought America was all about what each individual could do, not what their daddy (or granddaddy or greatgranddaddy) did. This makes me TUIMMAWL.

For you reality TV types, just had a Rocco Despirito sighting at the local Borders...
He was there signing some book he has out. No, I did not get one, and judging by the crowd or lack thereof, neither did many other people. Looks like they had plenty of books left.
I guess the fame achieved by being a royal A-Hole on TV is fleeting and not as lucrative as hoped.

Yeh, well selling Joe Six Pack a fantasy notion of what its like to summer in Newport has made a little Jewish kid from the NYC named Lauren pretty fucking rich. Good for him... nice to see a smart street kid whipsaw a bunch of social climbers (and make really long lasting shirts in the process).

Unlike Rocco Sifreddi, who has achieved lucrative fame by abusing non-royal A-Holes...

Is Carolyn Bessette hot?
I think she's attractive, but not in the kind of "can't take my eyes off her" sort of way.
I can't think of anyone famous about whom I think this -- but I know there are a few such gals. The only person I can think of is a friend of mine who is a stunner. She looks like a young Natalie Wood.
When I can think of celebrities I think are knock-outs, I'll get back to you. I know you will all be on pins and needles until then.

Au contraire, my dear. You see, more attractive people generally have more money. This is true for a number of reasons. First, beauty is attracted to wealth and, over the generations, more and more attractive genes have gravitated toward the upper echelons of society. Second, simply being attractive is a character trait that, although not a prerequisite for becoming wealthy, certain helps the cause. Third, being wealthy allows one to take better care of oneself, so even those with somewhat inferior genes can acheive that soft, glowing finish. Finally, there is nothing more attractive than someone who carries themself well, and you cannot achieve this sort of breeding in the public schools. For all of these reasons, you will find there to be a striking difference in the attractiveness levels at Philips Academy and, say, North Andover High.

You can duck and weave like Muhammed Ali when you want to. That last post was crafted tightly enough that I have to say I agree with it. We've been on the same page all along - "hot" is different than classically beautiful.
As to Bessette's background, I recall she was not a commoner, but actually came from an old family with a rather solid history in the area. And as to public schooling, where'd she go? Greenwich PS 101? I don't honestly know, so you can fill that one in for me. Bottom line... the Kennedy's don't marry proles, so whether she's monied or traces her lineage back the Mayflower, she's well bred. Failing that, she gives the appearance of impeccable breeding.
I'm neither elitist nor reformed. I'm just calling Bessette what most folks see her as - a symbol of what's perceived be good breeding. I can't put my finger on what exactly the defvining quality is that makes her appears so, but she's got it. And there's a certain person who thinks that's beautiful. Hell, I think its refreshing, since it usually means the person has manners. However, I don't think its "hot".
So we're in agreement,
SD

SD
She went to Sacred Heart. Catholic school. Not elite. nothing remarkable about her background and it was widely reported that it was notable that JFK Jr went for a girl with an ordinary background and not something more high profile or elite or whatnot. Hell, she was lower than you on the food chain from what you post. But thanks for playing.
But you still dont knwo what we were even talking about. And the genesis of the topis was the posting of not brooke burks ridiculous picture which i was accused of being jealous of for pointiung out that Cltrains gf could look like bc apparently I found no women "good looking" or someother leap of logic he made. So i named some I thought were, and thats that.
From the language of your last post it is cclear you are getting to that point where you are taking to insults and attacks on the poster and not the post which is a sure sign that you are slipping far far away into SD Land. Kindly drop it. I dont want you multi board stalking me until I have cavorted myself satisfactorily ino your totally contradicotory world.

Hey, that's my goal in life: to exploit dumb, social-climbing Americans. What do you think runs our economy? Efficiency? (yeah right); Superior products? (dear god no); our parasitical economy feeds off of itself, and we have these dumb social climbers to thank! God knows other countries aren't buying the shit we make!

C'mon, everyone knows that the only really entertaining class is the middle. All the insecurity, all the paranoia, all the neuroses ....
Of course, if you actually want to have real straighforward fun, with people more interested in ... just about anything other than in impressing onlookers, you gotta go upper or lower. But for the psychological torture kind of fun, it's middle all the way. Vastly more interesting.

At the risk of repeating myself, I must say au contraire my dear. It is the ability of the most worthy of our society to distinguish those with good breeding from those without that separates us from the animals. While your quaint notions of the everyman clawing his way to the top through sheer grit and determination show an amusing naivete, it is not how it works, nor is it how it should work. Some are born to handle wealth and the burdens and obligations that go with it. Others should go to public school.

Which ironically, and to come full circle. is why the Bessette/Kennedy hit the rocks and why she got all Wild On with the coke and the exes if you are to believe the Natl Enquirer and her old best friend Slave. She was no Paris Hilton.

Annoying commercials

No - the worst is that I-love-this-woman one. It's like torture. I would confess to anything if I was bound to a chair and forced to watch that on endless loop.
The best ones are some of those Sprint commercials - like when she takes a picture of her friend's new boyfriend (the slob) and the one where he throws his phone at the little kid's stick house. Also, one that makes me laugh is when they are all in a car and one guy gets out to pee and they drive off on him and the Chariots of Fire music plays as he runs to catch the car. In fact, I'm laughing now (I'm a little humor-deprived)

Yes, how typical. You point to one example of a wealthy heiress without physical beauty. I assume you can also find me a picture of some strikingly gorgeous peasant girl. As if your anecdotal example changes the ultimate and undeniable truth that wealth and beauty go hand in hand.
