Gwinky, I am so glad it's treatable and that you will be okay.
I was talking to my dermatologist last month and I have two good sunscreen recs for anyone who needs them:
Ombrelle for body, and the perfect full-spectrum sunscreen for under make-up, Olay Complete.
Even(drugstore brands, who knew?)Odds

In the middle of a big ketchup because yesterday was moving day (yay me), so hope we haven't already moved on beyond this interesting topic.
In senior year of high school a/k/a Grade 13 a/k/a OAC, we had to do these extensive projects for each class that counted for a big chunk of the grade. I was absent (not surprisingly) for the day that my teacher in some social studies course, who happened to also be a gym teacher, had his one-on-one conference with each student discussing their topic. So I never got a topic. So the year went on, and I didn't have a topic or a project. Meanwhile, everyone's doing their presentations and turning in their projects.
I noticed this teacher's pattern of writing down all grades for the class in a grid-type book. So one day late in the year, with Mr. Teacher out of the class, I strolled over to his desk to get a pencil, looked at my row in the book, and wrote down "86" in the grade column for that big project. Held my breath, and when marks came out, my mark was what it would have been had I received an 86 on that project.
I still have nightmares about it though.

Don't forget "Paycheck," coming soon (well, December) to a theater near you.
And as your Hollywood representative on the board, I'm hearing that the "Red Rabbit" producers/Paramount haven't made any decisions about who will play Mr. Jack Ryan, one way or the other.

THis just in
...except that it's been discussed here before, right?
'ET breaks the news first that Oscar® winner HALLE BERRY is separating from her husband of almost three years, singer ERIC BENET.
In a statement to ET, Halle said, "Eric and I have had marital problems for some time now and have tried to work things out together. However, at this point, I feel we need time apart to reevaluate our union. We ask that you respect our privacy as we are going through this emotional time."'

I know it's been beaten to death, but why do you need to have serial infidelity problems when you're married to Halle Berry? This makes no sense.

I will wear, as usual, no discernable costume theme. I'm really looking forward to ugly people asking me what I'm dressed as, so I can act haughty and say, "For you, hon, I'm the Do Not Call List." I ask the panel --- should I cap it with a Z-snap, or is that too 1996?
I shudder at the thought of the number of people who will attempt to go as Carson Kressley.

Some friends went as the gang from Scooby-Doo a few years ago, but that's less clever since the movie (though easy to do, with 70s clothing from Goodwill).
I think the SFC and I are going to switch costumes this year--I'll be Paula Bunyan and he'll be Babe the Blue Ox. For answering the door, since we won't be together I think I'll be a witch if I can find a good hat.
That's another idea for group costumes--legendary characters. Besides PB and BtBO, there's Pecos Bill, John Henry, etc.
I like the gods/goddesses idea. I've long been toying with the idea of a Halloween party with all religious-themed costumes. Besides the gods and goddesses, then you can have nuns, the pope, Mormon missionaries (ooh--this one would be particularly easy for gay GAs with short hair and conservative suits, though for sure the suits would be much nicer and more stylish than actual Mormon missionaries), etc. I went to a Mormon-themed Halloween party in Seattle a few years ago thrown by 2 fo-Mo drag queens--one couple came as Heavenly Mother and the Angel Moroni (the gold guy with the trumpet on top of Mormon temples).
Magnus picked his own costume, and he's going to be a bunny.

My sister has a diety group she's putting together. Allah, Vishnu, Mary of Guadalupe, Buddah, Zoraster, etc. I vaguely recall her saying something about arming them all, but I'm not sure what the significance of that was.

We (20 of us) did a group thing long ago. Rented a bus for barhopping, everybody got the white paper painters' suits, white hoods, face masks, white paper gloves. We were sperm.

Well, not if you ask Greil Marcus. But then, it seems like he kind of thought the Pistols (or at least Malcom McLaren) were the logical next step of the Situationist International movement. That strikes me as a bit of a stretch, but what do I know? I am a geeky lawyer living in the frozen upper Midwest who frequents internet chat boards - my credibility is suspect.
Confidential to Paigow:
Nothing say the holidays like the following lytrics:
"Dragged on a table in factory
Illegitimate place to be
In a packet in a lavatory
Die little baby screaming
Body screaming fucking bloody mess
Not an animal
It's an abortion"
Hey! It looks like we have a new candidate for board motto! EvenOdds, get right on that please.

Last year there was a group of about 20 Hari Krishnas at the party I went to. I recylced my devil went down to georgia costume.
The scariest costume I ever saw was a guy in one of the white painters' suits and carrying a meat cleaver. No mask, nothing marring the suit. He just had a creepy enough look on his face that it left enough doubt to make you think he was just taking advantage of all the other freakiness going around. I didn't get close enough to him to find out if the cleaver was real or not.

I was sad that I missed a party attended by Mr. Kiss last Halloween in which one of his friend's girlfriends showed up in all leather. Leather hat, leather vest, leather boots, leather chaps. Oh yeah -- no underpants whatsoever. Apparently she wasn't ugly but also wasn't hot and spent most of the evening backed into a corner. There was also an issue of some "buttne," but overall I think she got props from those in attendance for trying.

Isn't this effectively a toga party? I guess that's somewhat more limited, you miss the fun Germanic deities.

Not quite the same, but I went to a great vernal equinox party once. Everyone had to be something ... vernal equinoxed themed. We had Bottom, lots of faries, elves and nymphs, spring flowers, baby birds, lambs, rabbits, eggs, etc.
And we all got very drunk. I still don't know what happened to my wings.
