She'll get there. She's already progressed to posts in which she hands people's heads to them. On plates.

smiling amnesty

I just saw AMMs post about the Canadian passport situation. I happen to have mine on me since I am doing some immigration stuff and I checked the picture and as luck would have it, I am grinning like an idiot. I would like to thank the Canadian gov't for the smiling amnesty so I don't have to go out and change my fucking passport right away.

I only do that to people whose heads don't appear to be serving much purpose on their necks.

Paging Wannabe Graphic Designers and Reality TV

What typeface would you use to convey the mood of the utter pointless repetitiousness of life (you know, like being a GA)?

Would you recommend a different one if the type would be superimposed over a grayish cropped version of Munch's Scream?

PM me to avoid distracting the Board from sex talk.

Reality TV:

BB4: Jee is so completely clueless. Has he never watched a reality TV show before? Is the concept of throwing a competition to further your long-interest in the game unfamiliar to him? Winning the food reward after condemning the rest of the house to PB&J was stooooopid. Moron.

Cupid: Poor Joe. He is still one of my two favorites and is gaining on Hank. But he was the only one other than Robert whose tonsils Lisa didn't explore. She probably thinks he isn't good looking enough for her. I'd have voted for him but I was out in the country looking at Mars through a telescope. His big family better have hit the speed dial to keep him in the game.

The year was 1996. Everyone was talking about this new big thing the "internet," Chumbawa was on top of the charts, and the Pop-Up Video craze was sweeping the nation.

cc me so I can take the idea down to recruiting.

Edited to ask, how do I make the picture of the chick with the head on the platter my avatar? I find it appealing. It might not size down well, though.

NCS is right, just inarticulate.

Cruz is beautiful, but her face is flawed in that her nose is a bit too long, a bit too pointy, and the transition from the tip upward a bit too abrupt. This flaw is more or less evident depending on the camera angle, but she is still hot. It's not as if she has a square-head, like some of Europeans with Germanic members.

While Arial does a decent job, I'd pick courier. It lacks style and interest. Andale mono is also good.

I'm still not allowed in my parents' living room. Except on special occasions. But I'm certainly not allowed to mess with things.

I guess the ban might have been lifted by now, I never thought to ask.

No, my dear, its not. So sorry. We had considered lifting it as a gift for your 30th birthday, but between the new white sofas and your ass fetish thing, we were forced to reconsider.

Looks like its still the rumpus room in the basement for you.

Luv,

Personally, to convey that kind of mood, I would and do use Times New Roman --- the relentless, pitiless beige of the typeface world. YMMV.

Just think --- when Apple was choosing the PostScript fonts it would embed in its revolutionary LaserWriter in 1985, the choice for simple serif text came down to Times and another Adobe serif called Janson Text. The choice was momentous, because it would dictate what would be the default serif type for all time.

Times won out, firmly entrenching it as the gold standard for all two-bit desktop publishers and anyone else without imagination. Adobe charged hundreds of dollars for PostScript fonts, condemning Janson Text to relative obscurity. The rest is history. Just think how much more colorful and rewarding our lives would be if Janson Text, an infinitely more graceful and elegant face, had won that battle! Oh, the humanity!

Times

Yes, but we'd get fewer words on the page.

For anyone who is interested, the folks I had to testify against were found guilty today. Of course, they have a right of appeal which I expect them to take, but it was still pretty sweet. The judge didn't seem amused by their antics as shown on the video I took.

Just minor crimes so they all got a small fine.

And on another note, I got another picture today, so cool. Now I have two women and two men, and however many TM has to add to the pile.
