The Original QE Culture Guy Speaks

http://www.africana.com/articles/dai...0827queeri.asp

[Good article by the Culture Guy from the QE pilot. Still doesn't explain Blair and his disappearance from the show though.]

TI3

in other reality tv news --

A year and a half after the finale of Temptation Island 2, the show returns on FOX tonight at 8 p.m. ET. Mark L. Walberg hosts as four couples have their relationships tested by the singles. The singles, one reviewer says, "are only moderately good-looking, with personalities ranging from lackluster to utterly obnoxious." argues that "if you want to wallow in the discomfort of others [the show] ... will afford you that pleasure in every segment." The show's already being protested by Morality in Media.

I love wallowing in the discomfort of others!!

Since I spent hours on the web fruitlessly trying to find R.E.M's song about shiny, happy monsters, I am very excited. Woo-hoo!

Bonus points if this includes Little Richard's version of Itsy Bitsy Spider.
It's available at Amazon* ($44.99). No Little Richard tunes.

This site cult sirens (it is okay for viewing at work) is on an equal par with the gallery of women in spacesuits.

And, I finally saw Bowling For Columbine last night. In my case, Moore is obviously preaching to the converted, but, nonetheless, he does an excellent job of deconstructing gun ownership and its various connections to "white fear."

Thanks. That's better than the silver one I used to use, although now I feel like Stanford on SATC.

He's Bosnian, but has applied for citizenship.

There was a pink one too, and something called blue lavender. Which confused me, because it wasn't actually lavender, it was blue. Perhaps blue is the new lavender?

Triflin' has other meanings. Why don't you check out http://www.urbandictionary.com?

And the kids yell "Holla back pimpin" to each other in the halls and don't get into fights for it.
That makes no sense. "Holla back" can mean "let me know what's up with you" or "talk to you later" in that context. And "Pimpin" would make sense as a response. But the two don't go together like that. Minesota. Whatever.

I don't think she knows what it means, although the term may have evolved into meaning any dumb person. I never hear it used on guys. She's probably been called a chickenhead and inferred that it was something negative, but doesn't know how to use it.

Non-Texans Should Ignore

Don't forget, early voting on the 22 proposed amendments to the TX constitution starts today!

Handy-dandy list of proposed amendments, along with explanations and pros/cons: http://www.lwvtexas.org/pdfs/TXVG0903_Engl.pdf

Listing of county websites, at least some of which have early voting location information: http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections...s.shtml#County

For some reason I'm feeling civic today. Too bad it's not civil instead.
