Beer Ball vs. Pony Keg

Okay. that explains it. from the less-beer-knowledgeable parts of the world, a keg was a keg and the little one was a half-keg or a pony keg, because if you started throwing in quarter-barrel you'd a) confuse the hell of people and b) sound like the worst party in town ("dude, swing by tonight--we're taping a quarter barrel--rock on!")
|
Got it. We usually said, "hey swing by we are going to have a couple of halfs." Otherwise you would say, "hey swing by and we'll tap a quarter -- I'm inviting one other person."
We did think the beer balls and pony keg / can thing were cute little novelties though. But when you could pick up a half barrel of Old Style for $25 what's the point?

All I know is that I'm never shaking hands with anyone on the board with a score below 33%.
And I might be persuaded to teach you, but I have very high expectations for my students, and am a strict disciplinarian. . .

Can you refresh my memory. I don't recall any delicious avatar suggestions, and would gleefully change my avatar now that I am on Paigow's ignore list.

My husband is partial to Keystone. Yuck.
In college, a bar I frequesnted broke the world record for drinking cases of OV splits. As I recall, the day was quite disgusting.

My college beer of choice was Regal Select; $4.99 for a case of 11-oz. stubbies, with the cool little puzzles on the caps. According to the label, it was "recognized as one of America's two great beers."
PBR is quite the hipster beer in these parts. They serve cans of the stuff at my hipster rawk 'n' roll barber shop.

Since no one could ever stomach more than one at a time, they never had to come up with a plural form.

That's some cool stuff. Just like they say, always more to learn. Keystone was a curiousity until those crap commercials came out. I had to institute a ban after that. Regal Select sounds like a winner.
I am getting really thirsty. Is it happy hour yet?
If I am really opposed to picketing, how do I show it?

I'm curious. Did you all have Carling-O'keefe beer like Black Label ("Mabel, Black Label!"), and other goodies such as Schooner and Toby?

I always hated beer and never drank it. I have, however, had a fair amount of cheap vodka (as an inexpensive college alternative). When mixed with cranberry juice, you could hardly tell that it was the sort of gut-dissolving acid usually consumed by hardcore alcoholics from ratty paper bags, until you woke up in agony the next morning.
Ah, the memories.
