When I heard Chrissie Hynde singing "Gonna use my arms, gonna use my legs. Gonna use my style, gonna use my sidestep. Gonna use my fingers, gonna use my, My, MY imagination," I was officially intrigued by women/girls. I wasn't initially sure how Chrissie was going to use her arms, fingers, etc. but I was willing to take her up on her offer. To be honest, until I looked up the lyrics to the song today, I could never figure out that whole "sidestep" thing. It didn't matter to me at the time, because whatever it was, it sounded sexy, and I figured that the arms, legs, fingers, and imagination would be more than enough.

Looking back at junior high, it's amazing how chaste things seemed with the real item. Nobody was really doing anything with the opposite sex at my school. Now it's blow jobs for everyone, apparently.

Yeah, I hate people that live by prejudice and overbroad classification, too.

I'm with you. I always wanted a closet that would dress me.

And I wanted to be Jane Jetson. She was so out of George's league.

NB, I thought of you yesterday as I watched the original Sabrina on AMC. It was better than I remembered. And I take back what I said about Bogey in that movie.

And FYI, Dosoris Lane is real.

Yeah, but at least you can go into one of those hyperbolic chambers and get cured of that. (They overpressurize it, and it takes the little exaggeration bubbles out of your bloodstream before they kill you.)

I think due to that law suit that was filed, my local mega-movie theater has stopped doing commercials right at start time for the movie. They've moved the commercials up to 20 minutes before the movie start time. At the listed start time, they start the previews.

Anyhow, when I went to see the X-Men, I saw a commercial for a series next fall called "America's Funniest Person" or something like that. I think that the premise is that there are going to be ten to 20 amateur comedians, and we get to do the American Idol type voting for them. The bits that they had in the commercial were pretty funny.

Edited to add that I looked it up and it's going to be called "Last Comic Standing," and it will be hosted by Jay Mohr.

YES!! Wanda Sykes!! That was the one who had the bit about how next thing you know, they'll be letting us know that Tiger Woods is the new Grand Wizard of the KKK.

Jack Black update

So, against my better judgment, I decided to purchase the Jack Black "Shave in a Bag" thing and all I can say is, I'm glad I don't often follow my better judgment. That stuff kicks ass.

Now, can we please go back to speaking English? Thanks.

No kidding. Of course, that is a common theme to TV shows -- think of Fred and Wilma, and Barney and Betty -- that continues to this day. I mean, Jim Belushi and Courtney? That guy from The Full Monty and Jami Gertz (who I fell in love with when I saw "Less Than Zero")? Please. Can you picture what people would say if, oh, Roseanne left John Goodman for George Clooney on her show? But I digress.

I'm glad you gave him a chance. Speaking of futuristic gizmos, I seem to recall that Linus had some nifty stuff in his office. And seeing William Holden hit on Audrey Hepburn when she gets back from Paris without realizing who she is still cracks me up.

Ralph Kramden? Dagwood? The list is endless, and has always been designed to keep us guys complacent - yeah, right, like I'm gonna find a Courtney. (Swoon.)

I'll have to take your word for it. I can't remember a single joke by Elayne Boosler. She was so fugly it was distracting. Now, Rita Rudner, there was a late-80s comic I could really sink my teeth into. She was like a good-looking Steven Wright.

"Some people get so rich they lose all respect for humanity. That's how rich I want to be."

"Whenever I start dating a guy, I ask myself --- is this the man I want my children to spend their weekends with?"

"I'm afraid of childbirth. One of my friends told me she was in labor for 36 hours. I don't even want to do something that feels good for 36 hours."

Job Position for DS

DS, I've found the perfect position for you. I'm not quite sure what the pay is and you'll have to relocate, but I think you should look into it.
