Paradise Hotel

realityblurred says --

Want to join the cast of Paradise Hotel? An application and rules on FOX's site allow viewers to apply to be part of the action. Host Amanda Byram says, "The beauty of [the selection process] is the person who gets voted on will actually know more about ... the backbiting and the bitchy gossip than the guests themselves, which is very, ha-ha, evil." The rules: you have to be 21, single, childless, and a US resident -- and, of course, be willing to be skanky on national TV. Speaking of, astute viewers of the premiere may have recognized Toni, who appeared earlier on FOX's Love Cruise.

ncs says --

Ah yes, I remember Toni. Hated her on Love Cruise. How sad is my life?

(answer -- not that sad right now, as I'm rushing to get out of town for a long weekend, but typically, pretty sad)

That's true, if you post as anon, I can tell it is you all the same (from your IP address) and therefore match the anon to the sock.

And yeah, you just have to trust me. But I figure if you didn't trust me at least a little, you wouldn't have been following me as I wandered around the Internet now would you

By the by, it does log pretty much all the admin type stuff we do, including looking up IP addresses. So if one of the admins should get up to mischief, the other's would be able to tell right quick.

Not complicated in the sense of difficult to read - complicated in the sense that you don't need some uber-secret, proprietary program to find out an IP address.

Frozen yogurt is junk food. Empty calories. Its extra shit, just not as bad as ice cream. And dont telll me it is good bc it has calcium. It has sugar and gum and gelatin and shit in it. And who knows what else. And you aint eating it bc your hungry but bc you want sweets. Its nothing to do with food except it goes in your mouth and through the digestive system.
Couldn't agree more (shit, maybe I am a tribute sock). This is what I was trying to say earlier when I noted that most fatties that I know see food/eating as pure pleasure while I view it just a necessary part of life -- I eat for the fuel my body needs. If you focus on food for pleasure I believe it will come back to bite your big fat ass. This is not to say that you cannot enjoy the food you eat, just make sure that the enjoyment is secondary to the physiological reason for eating.

A doctor told me once that a person can live on 12 beers and two vitamins a day and get all of the necessary stuff. I'll let ya'll know if it works.

With the easy availability of blood transfusions and liver transplants these days, I'm sure it's quite doable.

Nope, didn't mean to suggest you did. Sorry if I did that. It would just take a couple of keystrokes, this is true enough.

I was under the impression that beer doesn't normally rot the liver out. I guess I always thought it was the hard stuff that did you in. Of course, I also like to believe that so long as you stick to beer you are not an alcoholic.

But CHOCOLATE FRIES!?! Good God, it's a disgusting combination, and caters to two of obese Americans' favorite sins: fat and chocolate.

Mmmm . . . Nuts and gum . . . together at last.
Given your avatar, this was pretty funny -- and brought to mind a Simpsons episode when Homer has a heart attack or something*, and Marge's comment is along the lines of, "Woe to the person who invented fried cheese!"

* I'm a little fuzzy on the details here.. someone with encyclopoedic knowledge of The Simpsons -- a category of of person that I know exists in multitudes on this board -- will be sure to fill in all pertinent plot holes

gay bars - Dallas

Not a lot of clever names here. I only know of one lesbian bar here (I'm sure there must be others, but I haven't been to any of them), and that is Sue Ellen's (as RT said, a play on the JR's chain). The original JR's is here (guess that figures) and it is the biggest gay bar. Moby Dick's and BJ's are the best names that I know of here. I think that the majority of the female Dallas residents would drop dead if they saw any establishment that was called "Clit _____". But if we want to discuss names of Strip Clubs down here (there are a lot of them), I'll need to call in some male consultants.

Yes. They're all entirely comphehensible. How could I have missed your point?

Yogurt has nothing to do with it. The point is knowledge about the nutritional content of food. I can't believe you think people shouldn't figure out what's in the food they're eating. Obviously they should, so they can figure out whether a particular food should be eaten frequently or less frequently. If frozen yogurt had 50 calories, I'd damn sure eat more of it than if it had 500 calories. I'm sure, after I posted the nutrition info about baja, you went out and had two burritos for lunch.

Yes. It's that simple. We should all eat soylent green, and not bother with variety.

People are fat because they consume more calories than they burn. How many calories they burn is a combination of genes and activity level. How many calories they consume is a decision they make. Why shouldn't that decision be informed by more than "it tastes good" and "me want food"?

And to answer your question: of course you're not fat. You once were chubby, probably in HS, had an eating disorder, learned to control your caloric intake by not eating at all, smoking a lot, drinking a lot, or induced vomiting (or a combination), and liked the feeling of control over your body that you gained. Now that you have that control, you think that it should be easy for everyone else. Classic.

Making the Band II

I saw portions of a new episode from P. Diddy's Making the Band II last night. I'm not sure why it was off the air for so long in the middle of the season, but I think it may have been because Dylan was in jail? Unclear. At any rate, I must say WHAT THE FUCK?

I do not understand how these kids think they can act the way they do. They have been given a chance that most people never get, and they complain that they have to get up at 6:00 a.m.? That someone tells them what to do? That they have to stay at Best Western (or wherever that was) instead of some sweet mansion for a few days? Ridiculous.

Kudos to Puffy for calling their bluff when they "threatened" to all leave the group if he was going to make them do things they didn't want to do just to be in the band. He basically said, "Okay then. See ya. Don't let the door hit you on the way out."

I am just so flabbergasted at their horrible attitudes and sense of entitlement. Flabbergasted I tell you.
