Romans, damn it, Romans. (St. Patrick, for example, was actually brought to Ireland as Roman slave.) The Armada story makes no sense, b/c it is too recent in time to account for all the olive skinned Irish in the population.

Lord you people are cranky, even by my standards. I was as tired of the religious discussion as everyone else so I needed a quick change from my Mel-Brooks-song-about-the-Spanish-Inquisition line.

Plus, I sincerely love chestnuts.

I didn't think they were portraying him as a rapist. They were portraying him as an asshole. And since he didn't seem to mind that in his pre-tape-release public image, where's the damage?

Too recent in time? QE the first, not QE the second.

OK, maybe that was one of those subtle European history jokes that I'm sure fly over my head all the time, and this one is just hitting me in the eye and I'm whiffing.

Good call. It gave me a warm and fuzzy flashback to the Peanuts Thanksgiving special.

Sigh. I'll have to get Fenwick to round up some toast, candy, and popcorn for everyone in the office today.

I have not read their official statement or anything, but based on e/o's earlier post it sounds like they were insinuating that she was incapacitated and therefore unable to consent to the taping of the sex act. If you watch the tape, that is clearly untrue. Asshole who took advantage of their daughter seemed to be their stance before the tape hit wide release.

Damn, now you want me to offer up a regression analysis to prove my point? Not happening, sister, not on a Friday (or any other day for that matter).

Gigolo school raided for overcharging students

http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiw.../14/2003075781

These classes may be helpful.

"A local newspaper reported that the school gave lectures on eloquence, posture, dancing and popular games played at gigolo bars for the potential "male public relations workers," a Taiwanese term for gigolos.

"They were also lectured on taboos at the bars, such as wearing white socks, smoking while walking or walking across the dance floor," it said. "

Whoa, hold the phones, that's "rape"? I thought that having an incapacitated chick around was just lucky.

The number of American men who have yet to learn this rule is tragic. Tax breaks for male ho school, I say!

There's nothing wrong with a crease. In fact, the only way you avoid having a crease is if your ass is completely flat.

And I think you're concentrating on the wrong thing. It doesn't matter how much she does or doesn't arch her back, it won't change the shape of her ass. If you have a round ass, you have a round ass. If you have a flat ass, you have a flat ass, no matter how arched your back is.

It is unclear exactly where Patricius Magonus Sucatus (Patrick) was born--somewhere in the west between the mouth of the Severn and the Clyde--but this most popular Irish saint was probably born in Scotland of British origin, perhaps in a village called Bannavem Taberniae. (Other possibilities are in Gaul or at Kilpatrick near Dunbarton, Scotland.) His father, Calpurnius, was a deacon and a civil official, and his grandfather was a priest.
Website here

I always thought the Black Irish referred to older Celtic stock. Celts were found in Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, and France. Ireland and Scotland were diluted by the Nordic, Anglo and Saxon stock.

Hopefully I'll have time to Google later.

Anne
Yawn- back to work.
Edited to add googled info on St. Patrick

While I dont find fault with Heidi Klum (was that she the gal who was either airbrushed or severely underweight in the little photo montage?) I would say that she is not spectacular, especially given the fact that I know her name. Her face is pretty but not goregous when I have seen her (including on SATC). I dont really know her body but she looked real skinny to me in those pics. I imagine if I saw her in person and she was six foot tall that might help things. I would just say she is overrated for a so called supermodel. She is no Angelina Jolie to pick a gal everyone thinks is gorgeous.
Seeing as you think Trigger, er Bessette, is the epitome of beauty, this warped statement should surprise no one.
