Perhaps I'm missing something.

Amen brotha! And nothing says "summer's here" quite like a little Steve Miller Band!

Leavin' home, out on the road
I've been down before
Ridin' along in this big ol' jet plane
I've been thinkin' about my home
But my love light seems so far away
And I feel like it's all been done
Somebody's tryin' to make me stay
You know I've got to be movin' on

Oh, Oh big ol' jet airliner
Don't carry me too far away
Oh, Oh big ol' jet airliner
Cause it's here that I've got to stay

Goodbye to all my friends at home
Goodbye to people I've trusted
I've got to go out and make my way
I might get rich you know I might bet busted
But my heart keeps calling me backwards
As I get on the 707
Ridin' high I got tears in my eyes
You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven

Big ol' jet airliner
Don't carry me too far away
Oh, Oh big ol' jet airliner
Cause it's here that I've got to stay

Touchin' down in New England town
Feel the heat comin' down
I've got to keep on keepin' on
You know the big wheel keeps on spinnin' around
And I'm goin' with some hesitation
You know that I can surely see
That I don't want to get caught up in any of that
Funky shit goin' down in the city

Big ol' jet airliner
Don't carry me too far away
Oh, Oh big ol' jet airliner
Cause it's here that I've got to stay

Oh, Oh big ol' jet airliner
Don't carry me too far away
Oh, Oh big ol' jet airliner
Cause it's here that I've got to stay
Yeah, yeah yeah, yeah

There are only so many chords and hooks.
I thought the hook on the girls' song on the recent Degrassi "Battle of the Bands" episode was so deck as to make the boys' victory seem absurd. Great cameo by Toronto Blue Jay shortstop Chris Woodward in that episode, by the way.

You tell us month in advance about every fucking Sting and Christina Aguilera concert on the planet, but there's a Battle of the Bands episode on Degrassi and you don't talk about it until it's over? Nice.

Ah, right. The old discern-age-by-teeth rule. Thanks for clearing that up.

Mine was more a comment about the ugliness of SD's cock, but hey, you can read it as you like.

cellphone recommendations?

This is probably better suited for the Gadgets board, but since there is indisputably a fashionable aspect to one's choice of cellphone, I'll ask here anyway.

I am going to have to replace mine, as it has started boycotting some numbers - apparently in protest against having been dropped too many times. Anyone have one that s/he particularly likes/dislikes? In particular, is it worth spending the extra $$ for a Treo? (Yes, I have a Pilot; it's starting to act up too. Deadly Viper Assassin life is hard on personal electronics. On a related point, which assassin are you? http://www.greatestjournal.com/quiz.bml?Q=183 )

Thanks in advance.

We really should take this to the gadget board, as I am sure that many posters will want to add their thoughts. In the mean time, what,s pecifically, do you use it for? Do you need PDA finctionality? Are you locked into a contract? Do you have a preferred carrier?

See you the gadget board...

Done. Sorry about the distraction, folks; nothing to see here, move along, back to your regularly scheduled discussion of equine dentistry ...

Just make sure you get a clamshell design that flips open to answer, 'cause that's cool. You can be like Capt. Kirk on Star Trek. And make sure you download the ringtone to play a perfect rendition of the Star Trek theme, 'cause that's really cool to. Especially if you turn it up really loud. And your wife/husband/significant other calls you up on it 20+ times a day and you leave it in your office next to mine while you disappear to do some "research." Of course, when you do take it with you, be sure to clip it to your belt. Nothings cooler than a belt clip. When I watch my office mate deftly snap his phone out of his clip to the Do do DO of the Star Trek theme, open it with a flick of his wrist, and answer "Wanker Associate," I just can't think of anything cooler.

See, it was a fashion question.

As if we needed another reason to hate Roger Clemens.
(spree: mild, inoffensive sound) (so inoffensive, in fact, that it's almost offensive)

OHMYGOD I hate you! You relied on the fact that I hate Roger Clemens and then I click on that heinous site where the butterfly follows the cursor and that evil piano music and that fucking bitch who says shit like...I have always been the type of person that never allowed myself to be more than 5 lbs overweight, knowing that 10 lbs was really hard to lose. I use my workouts to release stress and improve my focus and thinking. Because I love to eat, I have always worked out. I never wanted to deprive myself of something I wanted to eat, therefore, that determined how much I worked out. I would be eating something and it will be so good that I would have ” just one more bite”. I still do that today. The difference is that I have found a way to eat everyday (she eats everyday) to keep my energy up and not gain weight that fits my lifestyle. Believe me, it’s not easy. Everything worth doing is worth doing well. Effort must be put into it. You can have hope and expectation, but you must put the energy into it to reap the rewards.

AGGGHHHHH. I hate you. And I hate Roger Clemons and his ditzy wife.

Don't hate me. I told you it was another reason to hate Roger Clemens and his wife. I sat next to her at a game once, and I don't remember any butterflies. But that site makes me feel like going Colin Ferguson or something.

All I wanna do is shrumma 'shroom 'shroom 'shroom and a-vroom vroom!

Delaware college student eats an entire bag of mushrooms, and, finding himself ineluctably drawn to Connecticut, goes on a trip.
