Here's my advice - quit thinking and go find someone to fuck. It could rain icepicks and mucous for a month and I'd still feel allright as long as I was getting laid. Tends to work that way with humans.
Oh, and act on the lesbian thing.

Thanks for the thoughts SD. You are a gentleman and scholar.
As for the lesbian thing, have no fear, despite the initial rejection, I continue to pursue it. All over that action. Day one.

Everyone keeps telling me how much I'm missing out by not watching soccer. Okay. Lots of people around the world love it. But why should I watch if you haven't yet figured out how to make it work?
And it's not like basketball or football where they tweak the rules here and there to try to improve it. Soccer has real problems. Not scoring goals is by-product of the problem. The problem is that it is way to easy to have the game end in a tie. And because it's so hard to score goals, it's not an easy fix. It's a fundamental problem. But I'm not going to sit around and watch games day in and day out when such a high percentage of them will end in ties. And when a team goes up, it's an organized game of "keep away" until the ref decides that the game is over.
I'm not saying soccer isn't exciting. I've watched many games that were fantastic. And like baseball and hockey, when it's an important game and the defense is good and the scoring is low, the excitement and anticipation levels rise. But the fundamental problem needs to be addressed.
I think the field should be considerably smaller.

Wow. Wonk you are usually pretty mild. Is Fringey MIA or something?
Why do you care? Would it make you feel better if I discussed buying shoes at Payless?
IRL, I take it on a case by case basis. If the person loves to discuss Lilly Pulitzer or different types of glasses brands I do. If they obviously don't care about those types of things, I don't discuss it. If they're proud of buying generic, there is no basis for which to discuss brand preference.

His own volition. I don't think Nike determines much when it comes to his game decisions. You will of course point to his switch in club choice, but I think Tiger did that on his own and he waited until Nike came up with equipment that he felt fit his game.
In fact, I wouldn't put it past Tiger that he had Harmon say negative things so it could look like he called him up to straighten him out. Then, he will have gone back to Harmon on his own terms.
But, who do you think at Nike or in his camp would have the balls to say, "Enough is enough, Tiger. You're not as good as you think you are without Harmon. Get him back."

Do you mean work in general or work for the American market? Don't most of the fans think it works (for the most part) as it is?
This is unrelated, but I also appreciate rugby.
I also think I like Aussie rules football, but the only game I've attended I was too drunk to really know what was going on.

Its official, thanks to Sebby's guidance and a spartanesquely iron resolve, I'm out as a lesbian, and my first girl a girl act is to climb under your desk and peek up your skirt. No offence.

Apparently not. It seems from reading everyone's posts today that they are trying to fix it so that the team with the best penalty kickers doesn't always win. Going from penalty kicks to different types of sudden death to determine the outcome of the game seems pretty fundamental to me. It's like if baseball (and don't get me wrong, baseball has it's problems too, but most of them -- like the designated hitter -- are tied to greed) tried to change it so that there were no extra innings because all games would be decided by home run derby after the 9th.
People love soccer. No question. If you're going to reduce the argument to whether or not it is a popular sport to determine whether or not it is flawed, then the answer is simple.

Don't let this happen to your loved ones
Newport, RI - Prom night for Melissa Katzen meant wearing a brand new dress, riding in a limousine and being escorted to the dance by Trent Freegan, star athlete and the most popular boy in her high school class.
What it didn't mean was giving up her virginity, despite an expensive dinner and a $500- per-night luxury hotel suite paid for by Freegan and several of his football teammates.
"I thought we were going to stay up all night and play games and maybe even sip some alcohol. Then he got on the bed and told me he wanted me 'to go downtown.' I was like, 'huh? Aren't we already downtown?'"
Now ostracized for spending the night fully clothed with one foot on the floor, Katzen has lost all of the popular friends she worked tirelessly to earn over the course of her high school career.
"My parents had to change our phone number. We received threatening letters and in the middle of the night someone trimmed our hedges to resemble a giant vagina. And I noticed that the hymen was no longer intact, which was obviously done on purpose."
In addition, since Freegan went public with his gripe, Katzen suddenly received rejection letters from several prestigious colleges she had previously been accepted to, along with an explanation that they wanted to avoid the kind of negative publicity associated with frigid and/or prude girls.
University of Pennsylvania Admissions Director Carl Epperly felt strongly that while it's perfectly acceptable to be a virgin, it was not acceptable to "just lay motionless on a hotel bed next to a boy and not thank him properly for an evening of dinner and dancing. That's just not right."
Melissa Katzen disagrees, saying that she shouldn't be judged by her closely-guarded virginity -- she should be judged by four years of hard work, several extra curricular activities and a college essay about why she's never had sex.
In a letter, Melissa's parents reassured college admission boards they were confident that, like most 18-year-old females with high ideals, their daughter will eventually become more and more slutty and insecure, and eventually appear on a reality TV show where she will have sex with a handsome bachelor in front of a national audience.
Melissa's parents then reimbursed Trent Freegan for the cost of the hotel room.

Aussie rules football was a great game. It was huge when I was young, and then it suddenly disappeared. WTF? Was there some contract dispute over the rights to air it?

Yeah, but we're Americans. The rest of the world doesn't seem to have a problem with it.
And the BCS BS is funfamentally flawed - it's not stopping us from watching.
