I think you're on shaky ground if you are trying to suggest that the govt. has more poilicies that promote capitalism than policies that impede it.

You don't know much about farming in America these days, do you? Hint: It's mostly corporate, and the Andreas family will thank you for helping them out.

No, thos people didn't work for a living, dumbass. They got their money the B'n'B way, they inherited it. You're the schmuck who worked fo your money and you're being too stupid helping them hold on to their tax breaks to lower your own share of the tax burden.

If I got to drink your bottle, you'd have an excellent point.

Decreasing those taxes merely lessens what Uncle Sam gets from the people who realize a lot of income from investments. It does not give anything to anybody. It takes FROM the govt. Taking FROM the govt is not taking from the poor, unless you think the poor and the govt have a symbiotic relationship in which one works on behalf of the other to take money from the non-poor.
|
All taxpayers have a symbiotic relationship with the government, Sebby. Uncle needs a certain amount to make the monthly nut, just like you and me. If he gets less from one pocket, he has to take more from another. Dividends taxed at 15%, wages have to be taxed at 39% instead of 35.
If you think that simply taking less tax money from Henry Kravis or Steve Schwartzman is actually going to result in the govt. taking in less money, you're too drunk to try and reason with.

Your tax is $36 because the G can't afford to tax everybody at a 15% rate. Do you really not get it?
|
No. You don't get it.
At the outset, I asked Ty to show me an example of the govt taking one dollar from a poor person - an actual dollar that poor person had - and giving it to a rich person. He couldn't.
Now, we've moved past that and you're trying to show how ths cap gains rate subsidizes people like Forbes at my expense.
I gave nothing to Forbes. He did not receive anything from me. No money was taken from me and given to him. You suggest that he received something from me because he paid less taxes and my higher taxes picked up the amount he'd otherwise have to pay. Discounting the taxation of capital gains is a double-taxation argument, which though it is very relevant here would drive us way off track, how do you know the increased money I paid above that which Forbes paid would otherwise be paid by Forbes?

Sometimes I think you're half as clever as you think you are. But then I realize that if you were, you'd still be twice as clever as you are.

Before they had to pay 25% of them to the G. so that the old boys at Eli can still afford to summer in Maine.

I assume your older relatives plan to work into their 90s.
You have a very skewed idea of who lives off dividends. My 87 year old great uncle's been living off a load of investments for years. He landed on Normandy. I'd say he kinda deserves it.
The benefits you casually suggest are enjoyed by the rich actually touch an awful lot of the middle class and very deserving comfortbale among us.

I don't accept that theoretical math, but even if i did, the problem isn;t the old boys at Eli.
It's the goddamned luxurious govt we pay for. That should not be a career for anyone.

I always say Fringey is the bellweather of LT. She f'ing loves me, and can't stand you. You have the option of aping me so that she will think better of you. As an aside I love you and most people other than Fringey do too. Still by morphing into me you will get Fringey to your side- instead you turn to the sidd Finch side of hate and vile personal attackes- can you outline your thought process in this regard? I mean you probsably are about 10th best loved, and you decide to copy the number 1 most hated- Sidd?
