(a) Where'd you get this piece, Slave? I'd suggest caution because it is factually inaccurate. (For example, Murtha was not convicted of any crime related to the ABSCAM investigation. In fact, I don't think he was charged. He didn't take the money.)
|
The quote was from here http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0207/2751.html
I thought it was pretty obvious that the parentheticals were my own. And yes, he wasn't convicted, because they never followed up on his request to take the money later on. Quoth he: "You know, we do business for a while, maybe I'll be interested, maybe I won't..."
Quote:
(b) Oh, yeah, that "pig" will absolutely "starve" our troops. They won't have even a bullet to shoot at the ravening hordes of Islamofascists surrounding them.
|
That's the gist of what he's planning.

So, the Congressional Dems really can't win with you, can they? They are amoral pussies if they do nothing and amoral pussies if they may do something you disagree with. Gotcha.

For staters, they could have stood their ground and not confirmed the new General.

Of course, they are the dominant wing of the GOP. What, in your mind, separates this wing from the party they control?

They're a dingleberry ridden tail wagging the dog.
I was a Republican, and I hate everything they stand for and consider them a lower form of life. There's nothing shittier than a person who works to stifle ideas and thought. They're welcome to fight against progressive social behaviors, but when they try to legislate them into crimes, they're Stone Agers as far as I'm concerned.
I think the same of the strident Left who try to maneuver us with their asinine attempts at Utopia. They trumpet teaching Darwinism and haven't the brains to realize they can't possibly control its social variant.

Damn straight. Like all of those so-called "scientists" and "professors" who reject the TRUTH about how 9/11 was a Bush/CIA/Mossad conspiracy involving remote-controlled planes, guided missiles and controlled demolition of the WTC. Who the fuck do these people think they are?

Everyone here knows I am full of shite most of the time and would generally say anything I needed to if it is in my self-interest......that said, I am not SO full of shite and SELF-interested that I would blatantly lie under oath and present knowingly false pleadings to a federal judge. A traffic court judge, maybe, a Federal judge, never.
Clinton deserves everything he got and his legacy deserves the cum stain of shame it has on it for his lies, hi-crimes and misdemeanors. Even Hillary said there should be serious consequences if it turned out he was lying about Lewinsky. But she also told us, as the self-declared Co-President, that he wasn't. And she has never apologised.

Slowly starving our own fucking troops in a war zone - that is what this pig Murtha is now proposing.

What the hell are you talking about? Even the item you post -- which I'd guess you pulled from The Daily Outrage or some similar source -- doesn't suggest that Murtha intends to "starve" our troops, or deprive them of a single thing. It says "the coalition's goal is to limit or sharply reduce the number of U.S. troops available for the Iraq conflict, rather than to openly cut off funding for the war itself.

True enough, but what the GOP did was just as bad for the country as what Clinton did.

Wonk's absence has Killed the Board for me.
His petulant and self-indulgent little ploy may be fun for him; it's just a drag for me. Au Revouir. For now.

From the lefty Democrat site www.movecongress.org yesterday, before someone wisely had them edit it:
Quote:
Join us tomorrow at 11:00 AM EST when Congressman Jack Murtha will outline new details of a strategy to use his Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense to oppose the Bush war in Iraq. ...
Chairman Murtha will describe his strategy for not only limiting the deployment of troops to Iraq but undermining other aspects of the president’s foreign and national security policy.Chairman Murtha discusses these steps in a videotaped conversation with former Congressman Tom Andrews (D-ME), the National Director of the Win Without War coalition, sponsor of MoveCongress.org.
Join us here tomorrow for this exclusive interview

Once again -- nothing suggesting that Murtha wants to reduce or limit funding, or "starve the troops" as you hysterically put it.
And undermining "the president’s foreign and national security policy" is not undermining "National Security." Remember, it's the president's policy that got us in the Iraq quagmire and made Iran vastly stronger.
If you really care so much about the troops, I would think you'd be yelling and screaming about Bush's failure to provide body armor and other supplies before sending more over there.
