Well, the Post citing Novak's "unnamed sources" has Rehnquist resigning by the end of the week. 11 hours 18 mins to go.
Bob "Douchebay of Liberty" Novak says that? Well, that's good enough for me. Rehnquist stays.

What Ever Happended to the Jobless Recovery?

Yes, but, those jobs aren't being filled with, you know, HAPPY people. People are going to work, and earning a wage, but most of them would rather be highly-compensated college professors, and so they are fated to die a slow but burning death borne of a sense of worthlessness.

And how about the people who never work, but who WOULD HAVE worked, if only Kerry, as president, would have asked them to? The disaffected unemployed?

I blame Bush.
If only Bush hadn't lied. But he did.

Oh come on. You're not that dense. You're trumpeting one statistic and ignoring a slew of others. F'instance, job cuts are up 35% in June. And it's clear that the administration has played games with the unemployment numbers, no different from other administrations except maybe in degree.

Overall, it seems to me like the economy is moving up, but very slowly.
Read the title of my initial post. I was not trumpeting this stat in support of the economy as a whole, only to refute the assine spin that the DEMs placed on the recovery over the last few years.

My income has gone up by an annual average of over 25% since Bush has been president. Give me 3 more years, 8 of Jeb and 8 more of George P. Maybe one of the twins after that, the cute one.

I am so glad you're not dead. In celebration of your return, here's a riddle:

How many jobs that don't pay a living wage does it take to screw in an economic recovery?

(Hint: they don't provide health insurance or retirement benefits either)

Oh, okay. Well, that settles it. No jobless recovery. Carry on, all you shiny happy employed burger flippers and Starbucks associates.

I used to think this too, but then I realized that France is actually very close to becoming the second Islamic Democracy. If we wait about 10 more years we'll have another example for hope to the people in the repressed countries.

People should be more self-sufficient. It only cost sebby $700 a month to get individual coverage -- so it's not like it's impossible. That's a mere $8,400, easy enough to swing if you have a $10/hr job, which pays a rockin' $20,800/year.* Plenty left over for retirement savings, too!

*Did I fuck up the math on this? Am I leaving out a multiplier? Seriously, this seems low, but I did $10/hr x 40 hrs/week x 52 weeks/yr like 3 times on my calculator.

Economically, are you better off than you were 6 years ago?

You are right!

Let's all commit to boycotting any products from any companies that outsouce manufacturing jobs. None of our money to products made elsewhere!
Oh. You want to shop for the best deal?

Then shut it.

No. And I take people other than myself into consideration. Unlike you, apparently.

He's right, Bilmore. In your absence, club's had to fight the good fight here on the PB while subsisting almost entirely on the fumes of Hank's drunken ramblings, and the unmistakable fragrance of Penske's joyous photoshopped images of Democratic leaders, and Slave's angry, bitter quotes drawn from daily readings of the DU.

It's almost unfair, and this injection of saccharine sarcasm will sustain our man for a good 6 months.

I am. I have more than doubled my income, plus my equity in my house has appreciated at least 5 fold.

Otoh, I am fatter and slower. The lourd giveth and the taketh away, or something like that.
