If you think that comment didn't make any sense, you should have seen all the stuff I edited out.

I was thinking the same thing.
Countries that history indicates we have some change of going to war with in the next 100 years that would likely respect the Geneva convention with the United States, or would have up until a few weeks ago:
Canada
Mexico
France
Germany
"The EU"
Plus smaller scale actions in the Balkens, the Baltics and parts of Central America.
Query (genuine question, really don't know): Did the Serbs respect the Geneva Convention, at least with regard to American and NATO soldiers?

Well, alright, but I don't see you converting any of the people with whom you've been conversing on this point, so maybe your intended jury is Hank, club and bilmore. If so, please note that dissing 'em so badly and so openly during the trial is probably a poor tactical move.

Have you spent much time in the south? And I don't mean in the strip bars in Atlanta.

Confidential to baltassoc: The South Park movie, while perhaps aspiring to documentary status, had Oliver Stone as a special consultant. Be forewarned about using it as a reference in this regard.

I actually read this yesterday. This is a new proposal.
The dime was proposed a few years back.

I was shocked to see how militarilistic and aggressive a true southerner really can be.

I didn't know that was why I was here. Damn, my approach would have been so much different if I had only known.

IRL, I, like all litigators, praise how wonderfully bright juries are and how serious they take their responsibilities and how crucial they are to our justice system. I say the same things about judges, too, many of whom are corrupt and brain dead.

Your secretary is a southerner or you went to strip bars in Atlanta? Have you ever lived anywhere in the south?

I think I agree with you here, somewhat.
I was shocked when so many Congressional members from Texas voted against NAFTA, for example. It seemed very principled (if, well, stupid), since clearly Texas stood to gain more than any other state from free trade with Mexico.
But I'm not talking about pork (and I don't really consider NAFTA pork). Republican reps from the South will fight just as hard as any to keep an unneeded army base open in their constituency. I'm talking about Republicans running on promises to eliminate all welfare in districts with double digit unemployment rates (and winning by huge majorities). I'm talking about running on school vouchers in communities that have failing public schools and no possible way to create viable private ones (school choice only really works where you have enough people in a close enough area such that one can have more than one choice).
These may or may not be the right choices for America as a whole, but they sure are dumb for the person pulling the lever.
