Just curious. What type of personal liability could he have? Surely the president wasn't the source of the leak.

Doubtful. They could always rely on the "given the beating we have taken for the last 6 months, we wanted to be sure" defense.

Strange Bedfellows

If you guys promise not to bring up Barbara Streisand, I promise not to mention Don King.

I have no idea. I wouldn't have thought he would need a lawyer.

Yes, yes. I believe this was all hashed out in the media time and time again during the CLINTON administration*

OK, OK, you win: Bush's abuse of his office is starting to remind one of Clinton. Happy now?

I wonder if he'll follow the precedent of not paying his outside lawyers.

Very nice of you to make fun of the guy for the way he talks. Y'all didn't learn your lesson from making fun of, uhm, Quayle's "uhms"?

Anyone who testifies before a grand jury has potential exposure -- if only related to the testimony rather than the substance being investigated.

If there is a chance they'll ask him questions -- he'd be nuts not to get his own lawyer. As Ty notes, the Clinton-era prosecutions establishes that neither DOJ nor the White House counsel can represent the President personally.

Very sad article

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ers__regrets_1

(80 Israeli soldiers speak out on Hebron, all of whom served in Hebron to "protect"... or protect, whichever, 500 extremist settlers)

Someone is going to have to pick up the baton from me on this one. All I hear in this is "evacuation".

Hello

Did you link to the correct article? That article does not seem to discuss weapons.

Was Saddam buddies with Iran? Such that he'd send over his WMDs? For some reason, this sounds wrong to me. I thought Iraq under Saddam's regime and Iran were not what one would call allies (yeah, yeah, except in that they are allied with each other and both are allied with North Korea in the [WWF announcer voice]Aaaaaaaxiiiiissssssssss oooooooooooffffffff Eeeeeeeviiiiiilllllll[/WWF announcer voice]).

Again, surely you can do better.

All I wanted was for Scooter Libby to swing from a metaphorical lamp-post. Last time I read the treason statutes (about 1995; ugly business; best not speak of it again) the lamp-post at issue was somewhat more corporeal.

Gotta admire GWB's loyalty, if nothing else.
I can't believe they let him speak to a lawyer. How will the investigators find out the truth now?

Well, I heard that the special prosecutor tried to get Bush to declare himself an enemy combatant, but he asked too many questions before signing the form.
