Most of the Native Americans I know speak English.

What part of "place where metal fire horse rests" is not English?

So, Icky Thump. 8 our of 10 from Pitchfork. 3 out of 10 from Village Voice. I just don't know where to come down, and I don't have time to listen for myself.

Three of three liked it in the discussion about it (the title song) at the gym this morning. I suspect the full album will be playing for boxing class this weekend.

When you're back in your old neighborhood
The cigarettes taste so good
But you're so misunderstood
You're so misunderstood
There's something there that you can't find
Honest when you're tellin' a lie
You hurt her but you don't know why
You love her but you don't know why
Short on long term goals
There's a party there that we oughtta go to
Do you still love rock and roll?
Do you still love rock and roll?
It's only a quarter to three
Reflecting off your C.D.
You're looking at a picture of me
You're staring at a picture of me
Take the guitar player for a ride
He ain't never been satisfied
He thinks he owes some kind of debt
Be years before he gets over it
There's a fortune inside your head
All you touch turns to lead
You think you might just crawl back in bed
The fortune inside your head
You know you're just a mama's boy
Positively unemployed
So misunderstood
So misunderstood
I know you're gotta God shaped hole
Leanin' out your__
So misunderstood [x4]
I'd like to thank you all for nothin'
I'd like to thank you all for nothin' at all
I'd like to thank you all for nothin'
Nothin' [x4]
Nothin' at all
Nothin' [x3]
Nothin' at all

I generally like Kicking Television, but the live version of that song bugs me.

I listened to the title track and I finally get it.

I bet 13 year old guitar-playing boys and girls will basically be spending the summer of 2007 learning and playing that LP.

Yes, but it's perfect for Hank, especially the part that deals with his relationship with fringey.

Another true story.

Someone, I, errr know, had his band's record obliterated by a famous Village Voice critic, let's call him RC. The person I know's mother sent RC a very nasty letter, easily qualifying as hate mail.

So fast forward a decade and this person ran into someone he knew who worked at the Village Voice who asked if his mother wrote a letter to RC because it was framed and hung up outside his cubicle.

I downloaded it last night from iTunes, but haven't had time to give it a listen. You're a fancy lawyer; it's worth the $10.99 gamble.

Did that make your, errrr, "friend" have a facial expression like your avatar's?

Thomas the Train

has anyone else figured out if their Thomas the Tank Engine sets for their kids are the ones that contain lead paint? Our box for the set is long gone. Not sure if serial nos or batch lots are embossed on anything else?

Fox news is really messed up. They are reporting that cadaver dogs have found a scent at a freshly disturbed mound of dirt in that missing pregnant woman's case.

Then they are reporting that some 40 something coach married his 16 year old student.

god.

I don't get how that makes Fox news messed up? That they're reporting the news?

Anyway - a letter from Paris. Looks like it was written by a junior high schooler.

OK crap the pic didn't work. Here's a link.
