Clearly, they figured out that people like me had figured that out, and decided to engage in some price discrimination -- part of what made this country great, right Burger? You can't get people to pay more for faster service if your standard service is fast, so they made it slower.
So for the next birthday, I'll just order earlier.

I got a couple of cd's remarkably fast on super saver shipping recently, but they seem to be holding all the books until the one that is preordered is ready, which is annoying.
Really, Ty, I must say that if you didn't "get" that super saver is slower, you I'm not sure how to help you. They've always had that disclaimer language. Super saver = crapshoot. Sometimes 3 days, sometimes 9. It's always been like that. I haven't noticed any change recently.

Ty's butler was away for the weekend, and his new personal assistant clearly wasn't up to the task. Frankly, I'm sure the toiletry assistance takes up most of the day anyway, so it's quite understandable.

Because like any retail business, while you can predict to some degree when will be busy and when won't, it's never going to be perfectly steady. If there is both pay shipping and free shipping, the free shipping is going to suck more.
I think they started losing money, or profits had fallen a lot -- read articles? No doubt they cut back on staffing to save money.

Same here. Sometimes it gets there two days later, sometimes it's over a week. If time is of essense, pay for shipping.
I usually never need anything in a hurry if I'm ordering it from Amazon. If it was that important, I would have gone to a bookstore instead.

Actually, it seems like, because they're giving you free shipping, the items that will be shipped for free aren't as great a priority as the ones that aren't.

Concur, especially for us newbers or mostly lurker, infrequent poster types (like Catrin seems to be).

Find me a Mughali region, you lizard.
This is just another imperialist way of diminishing our grand history, by reducing the cultural inheritance of the glorious empire of the Mughals to "regional cooking", as if it is the food of a few local peasants.

11pm tonight. We'll awaken tomorrow morning to pictures from her 3am return home, and return to old face.
