She got pulled over twice and didn't enroll in whatever BS alcohol thing she had to as a condition of her probation. She's doing time for pissing off a judge.

You forgot that she also showed up late, and blamed everything on her publicist.

Much like, say, Alberto Gonzalez and the TB guy, she has not figured out that what you are supposed to do is say you were wrong and be convincing when you say you are sorry and take full responsibility. Instead of saying it's someone else's fault that you didn't know and then acting like you are entitled to do whatever you want.

I'm just happy to do be spending time doing things I enjoy with someone who makes me happy, even if those things aren't a thrill a minute. Perhaps when he uses the cooking (and, uh, whatever) skills I teach him to woo another woman, I will finally make Wanker a happy man by following his infamous suggestion. But for now, this is kind of nice.

I just read that her house is only 2700 square feet.
The press should stop calling it a "mansion". Hell, 2700 square feet doesn't even qualify it as a "McMansion".

I think she bought that just for the house arrest- "compromise" means both sides getting less than they would like.

living spaces are appallingly small here. Appallingly. Especially considering what you pay.

It is not that big of a deal, and I say that as someone who practice in Philadelphia and Camden in the criminal system, whcih I can assure you, in the pantheon of filthy crime-riddled hotspots, is hardly "provincial" or "parochial."
See what Paris' lawyer even says:
"She is in a cell with less than a hundred square feet, she is in that cell 23 out of 24 hours a day, in solitary confinement. The one hour a day that she's out she's allowed to be in the module, take a shower, and talk on the phone, but she's in isolation for 23 out of 24 hours a day and ask yourself for what? For driving on a suspended licence, as a probation violation."

Granted, he's an advocate, but the fact remains. Her name and the way she treated the court system contributed to this. Sauer is also known for being a tough judge.
The proper sentence was at the very most a weekend in jail. Sauer grandstanded, which kinda validates the respect she showed him, doesn't it?
|
Bullshit. She is a child of privilege who didn't bother following the rules because she has a gang of people she pays to keep any problems far away. She blamed someone else for the current situation she is in because, even though she signed a document saying she KNEW that her license was suspended, he told her she could drive. (And we all know that's bullshit. She just wanted to blame someone so it wouldn't be her fault.) She was not allowed to drive, but she did anyway because she has no respect for the law and believes she can do whatever the fuck she wants.
She was arrested for driving drunk and pleaded no contest. She was sentenced to three years probation and then had her license suspended. Then she was pulled over three times during that period, each time violating her probation. When she was brought before a judge, she acted like a spoiled little brat who thought the whole thing was a big joke.
So, if you were the judge, how would you get her to take the fucking law seriously? I don't care that she's a celebrity. I care that she get the proper punishment that will leave an impression on her to act like a responsible fucking human being who can participate in society and live by the rules the rest of us live by. If she was a sorority girl from Joisey, I would say the same thing and I don't give a shit if the judge was grandstanding. Let her ass rot in prison for the full fucking sentence. She shouldn't even be segregated.
You want to reduce these types of crimes (and many others)? Have two types of jails. One for violent criminals and one for everyone else. If you are found guilty, you go. There should be no segregation based on who you are or how rich you are. No country club jails. None of that shit. I guarantee you that if she had to do the time in jail with the general pop, her gang of advisers and lawyers would tell her exactly what would happen if she violated the terms of her parole in such a way that she would actually have listened. Hell, she might not have driven drunk in the first fucking place.
