Return of the FB book club

I created a Harry Potter thread for spoiler discussion similar to the one we did two years ago.

Feel free to speculate, rumor, etc.

Seeing as how you are so knowledgeable, I have another question for you: Today I went running and it was very, very hot and humid. I lost 4 pounds of water weight (I checked before and after)!! So, I think I was pretty dehydrated, so I ate some pretzels and had a lot of water and some juice. Everything seemed fine, but a little while later, I felt as if I had lockjaw. Has that ever happened to you?

(Ha ha - very funny - yes; I'll cut back on the blowjobs.)
Coltrane has never cut back on the blowjobs.

Not wise. What's happened is that your muscles tightened up from the quick re-hydration combined with the ceasing of the exercise. You need to work the affected muscles.

Are the gardeners around?

OMGOMGOMGOMG!! I'm Star Struck

So my youngest boy is going to this little nature camp thing at the Audubon Center in my area. They go and catch frogs, look for bugs, and whatever.

On the first day, I notice that one of the mothers seems to be attending the camp, too, but sitting on the outskirts of the group. I bid the offspring goodbye and go home to do some weedin'!

When I pick up said offspring, the counselors inform me that he's a bit exuberant for the group, so I'm going to need to stay each day to make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble. Swell.

So this other mother and I kind of sit on the edges of the action and intervene as necessary. She's a very attractive blonde woman -- attractive in a wholesome way and sort of keeps to herself. [Brief aside -- in one of our conversations, she reveals that she is home schooling her child, but I can't quite write her off as a nutjob, because she seems pretty normal -- and she also looks verrrrrry familiar to me.]

Other-mother looks so familiar to me, that I check the sign out sheet to see if I recognize her name. It's Jennifer something-or-other (no bells go off) and I decide it's just another case of not quite remembering how I know someone. But it's really bothering me. Today, I almost asked her if she's an actress, because everything about her is so familiar -- her voice, her face, her demeanor -- but I just am not recognizing her. Thank god I didn't ask her. Instead, I invite her child for a play date. We're on.

On the drive home, it finally dawns on me!! She's ELIZABETH BENNET FROM THE A&E VERSION OF PRIDE & PREJUDICE!!!! OK, she's been in other stuff too, but PRIDE & PREJUDICE!!! She's Mr. Darcy's former girlfriend!!!

Suddenly, everything clicks into place and things she's told me remind me of details that I've read about her (e.g., her being from North Carolina).

Elizabeth Bennet is coming to my house!!!

Fuck off with the Jailblazers stuff. We've got almost nothing but good guys now, and a fair amount of young talent. Draft Oden, unload Z-bo for a quality SF, and we're good to go.

So no Oden for you. And with Durant, the Oklahoma City Sonics won't need Lewis, so we'll give you Zach in a sign-and-trade. Win, win.

How do you know it was a wig? Have you confirmed that she is a natural blonde?

Are you really not going to refresh our memories re: blow-up doll's name? Because it's bugging me now.

Honey - there isn't a pubic hair left in all of NYC and environs.

Furthermore, I remember reading an article about A&E's P&P where it mentioned she had to wear a brown wig.

Prince and you've got a deal. Are there decent strip clubs in Detroit, or will Z-bo need to go into Windsor? I'm not sure how the Canadians feel about drag racing with a gun in the car, so Detroit might need to expand its adult entertainment options.

BTW, how strong is the correlation between home schooling and nutjob these days?

As a kid, I always thought the correlation approached 100%. Even as an adult, I rarely encountered folks who actually did this. But now the Gaplet is getting involved with the theater crowd, and while we're trying to make these fucking school/worlk/rehearsal/other crap schedules work, I notice that there's a higher percentage of people who reply, "Oh, Biff? Yes, well, we homeschool him."

Strikes me as weird, but I can't decide if this is just (a) you know, hey, LA, man, (b) the weird theater subculture, or (c) some really poor decisions on our part about who we're interacting with these days.

Correction. That's the Las Vegas Sonics.

I'm OK with Durant. I just really wanted Oden.

I've only mentioned it a zillion times but that is my favorite TV miniseries ever. I'm reading a mystery based on the P&P characters ("Pride & Prescience") and I envision all the characters in the book looking and sounding like those on the A&E/BBC version.

ETA: Hank, I love the new avatar.
