When your best friend asked you to be in his wedding, did you suddenly realize that you had feelings for him that you needed to get off your chest? Did you go with him and the fiancee to sing karaoke (she wasn't very good) and then tell him of your secret love? If so, I'm sure hilarity ensued.

I take communion whenever I go to church, which is whenever I am visiting my parents or they are visiting me. I try to conceal the acid-like burning sensation in my mouth. There is nothing I can do about the hissing and smoke when the holy water is sprinkled on me, however.

Well, lots of us white people don't have it staring us in the face too much -- especially if (like me) we grew up in areas that were de facto segregated or had a tiny minority population. [But then I joined the Army, moved South, etc.]
I was also struck by the split reaction to the verdict -- reflecting very different perceptions on that "reality." I too was at work when it was announced. TV on in the conference room, crowded with people. Every black person in the room (at that firm, in that office, at that time -- they were all staff) cheered, celebrated, or otherwise expressed satisfaction. Every white person in the room (lawyers and staff) just turned around and left.
If that verdict was useful for anything, it was for the lesson that the quality of "justice" you receive is even more about money than race.

My sister and her family are non-denominational Jesus freaks (although surprisingly not preachy, so maybe they technically aren't "freaks"). My dad is agnostic and my mom, being Italian, is an open-minded Catholic. The family dinners are always interesting. I recently discussed the 4th trimester of human offspring (and how via evolution our pelvises have shrunk due to bipedal motion (and our heads have grown), forcing us to give birth earlier, thus requiring infants to develop in the outside world what typical mammals would develop in utero).
It went over well!

Someone just told me that I'm likely to be gay or bisexual (and good at sports - yay!) because my ring finger is longer than my index finger. Apparently this is very peculiar for women, although the norm for straight men and means that I was exposed to a lot of testosterone in the womb. Anyone ever heard of this theory? I think it's a load of crap, but I googled it and there appear to be studies done on the subject.
Bottom line -- I really do have man-hands! Thank you, science.

I have girl-hands. This may explain my lack of an internet gf.
ETA actually, whether it does or not, that is the explanation I'm going with.

One of the people espousing this whole theory was on Colbert within the last few weeks, so I've heard about it (I get all my news from Colbert).
I have a shorter ring finger than index finger. As does fringey. Mr Man has equal length ring and index fingers. The guy on Colbert also applied it to men (men with longer index than ring " the feminine arrangement" are apparently more likely to be gay also).
Seems like bunk, but it makes for a somewhat interesting minute and a half of bar stool dialogue on a random Friday night.

My middle finger is significantly longer than ANY of my other fingers. I am not a bi and I am not good at sports.

The lengths of my fingers are apparently perfect for administering the shocker.

Whatever day. Like I'm supposed to keep my days straight*. Every day other than yesterday is now classified to me as Not-The-Day-I-Saw-Crowded-House-At-Troubadour.
*I'm not a bi.
