Elecrolyte imbalance, esp. lack of potassium.

I tried to sleep with my HS girlfriend at an elementary school playground. But I was an almnus of the school, which I think makes it okay.

Tried.

No idea. Usually it's towards the end of a swim workout and it's almost always my right calf when I'm pointing. I can generally feel one coming on about 25 yards before it happens and sometimes if I start pointing and flexing really quickly I can work it out before it starts. Sometimes, though, it's just a new and interesting part of a workout.

I do masters swimming about four times a week, and inevitably, it hits in the middle of a lane while I'm doing some drill with a person in front of me and a person behind me in the same lane. It's all I can do to get to the side of the pool and wave them on.

I don't think it's ever happened with any other kick than a freestyle flutter kick, though maybe once on backstroke, and I don't think it's ever happened on just a kicking drill.

My personalized endurance drink had loads of electrolytes/potassium.

I had never had it happen before, and had swam over twice the race distance during training sessions.

Oh, I've swam long distances without it happening, and it's not a really common occurance for me. But it's not unheard of either. Usually I figure it means that I haven't been working my calves enough and/or I'm too tense when I'm swimming.

Yet she let you show her your elementary school playground? What a tease.

I think it was the latter for me. That also might have been the reason my back flared up. Running races are simple and relatively stress-free. Just...run and zone out. There's a whole lot more going on in a tri.

And she went to the elementary school across the river! I was showing her priceless memories, but she wouldn't let me unsnap her bodysuit.
