Available at whole foods.

For nostaligic music, Don't Stop Believing when I heard that on Soprano's Finale it brought me back. it is now #30 on itunes so I am not alone.

Now that you have grown older, finding new music is too much of a chore, and all the stuff that is coming out these days sounds the same anyway, and who really wants to be listening to the same music the 20 year old who valet parks your car is rocking out to. So you've gained a new appreciation for some of the music of your youth. It has both comforting familiarity and a pleasing air of nostalgia. Plus, the fact that you can still hear it repeatedly on classic rock stations all across the nation means it has really passed the test of time.
Yesterday, Frank E. Lee, the second best DJ at WXRT, the best radio station in the world, described The Shins "Phantom Limb" as the best new Beach Boys song of 2007.

How does this comment reinforce your theory? In what ways does it undermine it?

High Camp sounds a whole lot better than band camp or church camp or soccer camp or any of those other camps.

All music is derivative. Despite the fact that there are many new bands coming out every day that, to one degree or another, emulate or are at least influenced by (among other things) bands of the 70s and 80s, classic rock stations thrive by playing over and over and over and over and over again a small selection of the songs of those bands from the 70s and 80s. And they are playing them to people who may not have really even liked the music back in the 70s and 80s, but through the comfort of familiarity and the soothing of nostalgia, have grown to like these songs, or at least have convinced themselves that they do. On the other hand, the fact that so many new bands are so openly derivative of bands of the 70s and 80s may drive older listeners, who actually experienced these bands when they were new, to go back and listen with fresh ears to the music of their youth. These listereners may not have even appreciated this music at the time, but they now have grown to enjoy it, in part due to the recognition that this music remains influential to newer generations of musicians.

You pompous bastard.

Yes, they were absurd. But they could fucking play. You had a killer guitar player and an amazing singer. When they played simple rock stuff, they were amazing. Ever watch that Live Aid set? Fuck. They blew everybody off the stage.

And Freddy got everybody backstage as well.

It's all been done before; it's all pointless; life is just to die.

Brian May had some of the worst rock hair of all time. And the post-Freddy band hit the road with Paul fucking Rogers. In. Defense. Able.

I do find "Killer Quean" randomly stuck in my head from time to time.

I believe there was a recent discussion on exercise/fitness drinks. This company, http://www.infinitnutrition.us/, mixes customized drinks supposedly based on your age, weight, sex, sport of choice, amount of sweating, etc.

The company is supplying drinks at the aid stations for my upcoming 1/2 Ironman.

It aint cheap.
Speaking of...does anyone know the origins to the name "Gatorade?" Because it's not made of alligators. Perhaps it was made near a Florida college.

Oh if only a highly respected semi-retired sports announcer could tell the tale set to a catchy 70's tune. Maybe "Summer in the City."

Ah, too much of a priss for Queen?

I think you just need to get with current faux-sophisticated Eurotrashy music . It's come a long way since Queen.

And if you go, say hello to Flower.
