They just played a very small club here, and I failed to get tickets. I could have bookended my Memorial Day weekend with Bad Brains and the Hold Steady. I'm not sure I would ever have fully recovered, but still.

Hmm. I hated it so much when I heard it in Mr. Man's car this weekend that I forced him to change the channel with his steering wheel control because the iDrive wasn't cooperating fast enough. I'm not sure why I had such a strong reaction to it. I'm generally okay with whatever's playing, even if I don't love it.
Exception: That song with the whistling by Peter Bjorn and somebody that Sirius is playing to freaking death. How exactly did that get into high rotation?

I missed the Hold Steady on Thursday. I'm irriated with myself over that. I will attempt to make it up by going to see the Black Keys and Dinosaur Jr. on Sunday.

Oh. My. God. The only amazing thing is that, through some divine act of mercy, the whistling part of that song ACTUALLY DID NOT POP INTO MY HEAD due to your post. Listening to that song over and over could easily make a person justifiably homicidal.
