New Years Resolutions

Is there a ritual that goes along with making resolutions? I am making some this year, though they are top secret so I cannot post them here (but think along the lines of no more UF, stop being a homewrecker, no more wanton sex with people more than a decade younger than me, no more open drug use in foreign countries, etc.), and I think I need to perform some sort of ritual to make sure they remain in the forefront of my mind. Perhaps I will tattoo them backwards on my forehead in glow in the dark ink so that I can see them when I look in a mirror in the dark? Thoughts? What is acceptable and expected?
My ritual involves buying a calendar every year and sticking the stuff I'm supposed to do by certain points of the year.

Mine, btw:

1.) Finish the degree that I've been working on for ten years.

2.) Continue diet / exercise / weight loss kick that I've been on until I'm super smoking hot.

3.) Get significant progress on novel and/or screenplay beyond the "I should write a novel about sex toys" phase.

4.) Find some employer who will pay me what I'm worth.

5.) Until 4 is reached, spend less money.
