That is exactly what Mr. Man said when we saw it for the 8th time in 3 minutes. He has always hated Martin Grammatica, so he noticed the completely lame block attempt.
I hate the Cowboys. Hate them. Yet I felt bad for Romo. Awful way to end his season. If I were his friend, I would note for him that even if they had made the 3, there was enough time left for Seattle to take it down the field and win with a field goal.
The last 5 minutes of that game was completely bizarre. Strangest one in quite some time. I'm glad I had no vested interest in either of those teams.
I'm also glad the Giants are out (although the thought of no more Tiki Barber is a bit hard to take). Hopefully the last half of the season costs Coughlin his job. My main Giants buddy has vowed to boycott the Giants next season if Coughlin stays.
That said, I'm a huge Saints fan this week. We actually had idiotic Eagles fans singing some fight song by us at the sports bar yesterday. Who does that? It was not an Eagles bar, and they had Giants fans on three sides of them. I started hoping that we would win solely so that we could sing it back to them on their way out the door. They started in with the singing after the first touchdown, when they merely had tied the game.

The Leon Lett gaffe in the Superbowl was of no consequence (fumble recovery, waddle down field, ball knocked out by Beebe at the two). The Lett gaffe on Thanksgiving against Miami (blocked fieldgoal with some ridiculously small amount of time left on the clock, ball would have been dead if he hadn't touched it, he slipped, and Miami recovered at the 1 and was able to try another field goal and win the game) lost the game for Dallas.
Seems to me that the Lett (Thanksgiving) gaffe is a more embarrassing gaffe, since it was a thorough misunderstanding of the basic rules of the game of football. The Romo bobble was certainly a choke and lost the game, but I think that it's a different, lesser level of idoicy than Lett.
Certainly satisfying though. (spree: Romo bumble)

Was Don Beebe ever really the "fastest guy in the league" or did people repeat that only b/c he is white?

When my dad helpfully pointed out that the Eagles lost a game this year on a 62-yard field goal, I threw a pillow at him and left the room. I simply could not watch.
I'll be in the Superdome on Saturday. Nothing good has ever happened for me there (see ie, the Sugar Bowl on January 1, 1988 or 1987 NCAA Basketball Championship. See also, Superbowl XV). Nonetheless, I'll be there, and if nothing else, I'll get a good meal out of it.

For someone who had no real stake in the outcome of that game, it was a really good football game to watch.
I kept going back and forth on who I was rooting for. I have a crush on Tiki Barber, but I also really like Brian Westbrook, who kicked the shit out of the Texans early this season. The Giants got a slight edge in support after that late hit/personal foul somewhere in the second quarter. It seemed that the Eagles got away with something there.
It was a really good game, especially after watching the Patriots / Jets blowout earlier.

A QB is supposed to be good at catching snaps.

I can't imagine that it was too hard to catch up to Leon Lett.

I liked the story in the NYT yesterday about how Zack Randolph is still pissed about the Mr. Basketball Indiana vote his senior year. I am not bothered by that vote. I do wish ass had more thirst for education, and stayed in college a few more years.

They have quarterbacks take it (usually backups though - and for good reason - if you were watching the Eagles backup practice taking snaps and getting it down while Garcia was still on the field getting Philly in position for the FG attempt, that would be why) for the exact reason that Romo displayed after the screw up - they figure QB's have the best chance of making something happen if the snap or hold goes bad. QB's also take a whole lot of snaps in their careers.

Hmmmmmm, if I'm Carrie Underwood and I just lost 20 lbs to become unexpectedly hot, I'd dump his ass.

In 1996, my downstairs neighbors called the police during the championship game. They were concerned I was being murdered upstairs. In a way, I was.
2003 was sweet. I'd just had the Brazenette. That tourney was the icing on my cake that month.

They were doing that in the stands at a Phillies/Nationals game this year. Singing and periodically shouting, "E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!"
I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't have something to shout or sing about for the team that was, you know, actually on the field.
I will leave aside my wonder about why anyone would feel and urge to shout at the meaningless Phillies/Nats game.

By the way, I've mentioned to several Eagles fans in recent days that the Eagles really need a Barber on our side. Since Tiki is no longer available, we would settle for Ronde or Marion. (Yes, I know that Marion is not related to the other Barbers, but still...)
