They are decent folk*, just ignorant about football. I don't know much and I can talk circles around most of them.

ETA: By decent I mean they are totally in to the party scene and the hoopla. They rarely pick fights.

Jets fans drink Sierra Nevada and speak in polite and respectful tones about how annoying it is to hear all about Chad's Big Brain while watching Chad's Shitty Arm. And their sophisticated and football-savvy wives are jealous of Anne Elk for having met and spoken with Tiki Barber.

What say you NYC GAs? Is it smelly in NYC?

Yes. Mysterious and smelly. Just part of the magic that keeps us all here at TCOTU.

They are mostly working class people that is why. Decent, hardworking, hard drinking garbage men, carpenters and union men. NTTAWTT, but it is the vast majority of them--kind of pleasant but uneducated and sometimes a tad dumb.

I followed them for years. way before tom brady and when like bledsoe and flutie did a stint on the team. I move, they win the SB. I was so pissed. My retirement plan advisor for my firm at the time was from Boston and they were soooo into it. I had to grin and bear it since that year the jets and giants sucked ass and bit it. same thing with red sox. I leave and they win world series.

p.s. too bad stinky gas didn't happen at the height of the tourists their fanny packed asses would have been stunk out of Rock Center.

pps.
how much does a ref make a nfl game?

I have absolutely nothing in common with Bears fans, and I am not even close to being a snob (I'm a Sox fan for god's sake), but it seems like they bus people in from every Chicagoland trailer park to attend games.

I disagree with your statement that working class people are ignorant. The blue-collar Giants fans I know are very knowledgeable about the game. I know very few football intelligent Patriot fans, regardless of their line of work.

I left TCOTU 16 years ago, does that mean I can't follow the Giants or the Mets anymore?

They're underdogs? They are playing against a team with 0.0 rating Grossman and they're underdogs?
We are almost always the underdogs. This weekend we are the biggest underdogs. I believe they're calling for a 9 point spread. Remember that we have 1 defensive player who played all 16 regular season games. The rest are one legged, groin pulled cripples.

I'd like to see their defensive ranking after Mike Brown went down.

I'd look it up, but that would require effort.

OK, fair enough, what I was going to edit and add is that Boston is very very insular and a tad provincial and they are very protected and sheltered and blue collar fans in NY are very street smart and that can lead to an inherent street intelligence that the boston fans lack to no fault of their own, just lack of exposure to anything needing street smarts.

His arm hasn't always been as shitty as it is this year has it? Did the second shoulder surgery do him in or am I misremembering how good he seemed a few years ago? This season, I think I would have been able to get the ball to receivers harder than he did.

She did not say ignorant. She said uneducated and a tad dumb. You have to pay attention to the subtleties on this board, or the whole discussion will go right over your head.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but I would love to know the basis for any of your statements in this post.

Random thoughts

* Please. No "we." Unless we are somehow counsel to the team or otherwise on the payroll, it's "they." "We" are fans, at most.

*WTF does football street intelligence mean? Something about surviving the trip home from the Meadowlands intact?
