I view Betty and Veronica as Jennifer Anniston and Angelina Jolie. Jolie is a bit of a bad girl but is WAY more attractive to me (in all senses - not just physically) than goody-goody Jen. This is why I am a proud wearer of TEAM VERONICA tshirts.

Oh my. What an abomination. One can only hope that The Man will listen to the screams of outrage, and that this will be fixed. Like New Coke. Or the OJ book.
( And whoever drew them clearly is a Veronica fan. Poor Betty looks like one of the Olsen twins.)

Betty needs a hamburger, and Veronica would have bought way bigger tits than that.

Yeah, but you know there is something hiding under Betty's wholesomeness. The normal-appearing girls are often the ones that are freaks in the sack. Not that Betty is "normal". She is objectively hot. Veronica is more sexually suggestive, which probably means she just lays there like a dead fish when being pistoned.
ETA: this new look is horrible.

Frustrating Jesus Christ
There are two individuals.....in real life. One I see on my train and one at work. Both are simulaneously really fucked up and really needy with a mean streak. I would like both to leave me alone, because both at one time or another have been really rude to me and I just quite frankly am sick of feeling like that, like you come away feeeling worse than before you saw them. Neither will take the fucking hint. Short of TELLING THEM TO BUZZ OFF what should I do? I just want them to leave me the fuck alone.

Dissent. Betty is not insecure like Aniston. She is a rock. Don't fuck with Betty.

Well, he threw a Reader's Digest
At my head and I did run,
I did a somersault
As I seen him get his gun
And crashed through the window
At a hundred miles an hour,
And landed fully blast
In his garden flowers.
Rita said, "Come back!"
As he started to load
The sun was comin' up
And I was runnin' down the road.

you are getting in deeper since what you posted implies there is another "team" involved.

Okay, twice this year we've been hit with a proposal for a marketing opportunity. For sort of big bucks we go to some place nice. There are also dozens of in-house attorneys that are looking for new outside firms. To be invited, and be at the nice place, they have to agree to interview X firms, and have to be seriously looking for help. I guess my first thought is the in house guys will be going through the motions, trying to get done with the required interviews so they can get to the golf course. OTOH there are some great potential clients that go- if they are serious it might be great.
Anyone hear ever heard anything pro/con about other's experiences at this type thing?
|
Not really. This idea of an arranged job-fair-type-of-firm-interviews sounds kinda weird. The patent groups I've been involved with at other firms haven't ever gone to those sorts of things. In my experience, a company needs new counsel, they reach out to their network of firms they know, and/or interview the bigger names. I suspect that your inclination (that it's largely a boondoggle, though lightning might strike) is on target.
